The presale ended yesterday and they haven't told me whether or not I got tickets. Leftovers, if there are any, go on sale to the general public tomorrow morning. ussoccer.com doesn't seem to have any updates.

Anyone else try/succeed/fail to get tickets through the presale?

I tried for the first four games and haven't heard anything back. According to one member of a mailing list I'm on there won't be any leftovers so no public sale.

How did you send your application in?

I tried to get into it. Yes, I know I am a MEXICO fan, but I just wanted to get under DrL's skin when I scalp the cHIT out of those tickets... ;)

You can admit that you wanted to go see them instead of Mexico, we'll all understand. :)

    They range from 35-100 Euros.

    Mannnn... touché. :p

Do you know the conversion rate for PESOS? I'd be paying so much freakin' money it's unbe-freakin'-lievable. Of course I'd buy them in the EE.UU. instead of in my Mexico. :(

    Remember this:
??? It started back in Febtober 1st 2004.

They've had phases of it. That was the first phase, then there was another during the summer, and the third phase ends next week. I beleive there is one more after this one.

The tickets that I tried getting were from US Soccer's allotment instead of FIFA. If I don't hear by next week if I got them or not I'll have to get into the current phase from FIFA.

A friend of mine got tickets to 10 games thru the FIFA lottery. He'd been trying for the past 12 years or so to get tickets and he finally got some.

FRANKFURT, Germany - Fans are getting more World Cup tickets than originally planned, organizers said Wednesday.

Support your favorite team with official World Cup gear from the Fox Soccer Shop!

The capacity of some of the 12 World Cup stadiums has been increased and 3.07 million tickets have been made available - 140,000 more than originally planned.

Of the 2.6 million tickets already sold, 70 percent have been distributed through public sales.

A lottery lasting eight hours on Wednesday allocated 300,000 tickets among 677,900 applicants, who had requested 6 million tickets.

"With the end of the third sales phase, 2.6 million of the approximately 3 million available tickets have been sold, including 1.1 million to customers around the world through the official Web site," said Horst Schmidt, a vice president of the organizing committee.

"Public sales also include the tickets allocated to national associations, together with packages available to everyone via the hospitality programs. That means nearly 1.9 million tickets have been distributed via public sale," he added.

The number of tickets going to the 31 foreign teams qualified for the June 9-July 9 tournament has been raised by more than 100,000 to 592,000. Tickets allocated to sponsors have been cut by 65,000 t0 490,000.

The fourth sales phase - which will follow the "first come, first served" principle - begins on Feb. 15. Details of the tickets on offer will then be determined by the volume of returns.
