...in that the game U.S vs. Germany the "German Iverson"(who dunked on Yao) had Steve's whole free throw ritual down pat. When he got the ball, he touched the tatoos on his shoulders, he flung the ball behind his head, dribbled, took a deep breath, then shot. He had to have studied Steve man, he really knew how to do it. But he should cut out the touching of the shoulder, Steve does that to pay tribute to his mom who passed away.
lol. I didn't see that, but I would've laughed hysterically. Has anyone else noticed the tattoo parade on display at these world championships? Talk about NBA influence... I predict the entire Yugo team will have corn-rows and/or braids next championships.
Here's hoping they take up bad passing, stink-a$$ free-throw shooting, and pathetic team defense like the NBA guys also. Then maybe we can medal. Sorry that's too harsh, but it was so sad to see the Yugos celebrating on a US court. It would be easier to take if Vlade had corn-rows though.
DoD - With the exception of 1 player (Gurovic, I think), I do not recall any major body mutilations by the Yugoslav players. I just looked at their pictures on the FIBA website and still don't see any. Vlade has had a small one for a long time and I don't believe Peja, Bodiroga, or Tomasevic have any. (Same for none starters Radmanovic and Rakocevic). NBA.com is replaying different games and I will take another look, but I do not recall tatoos being that prominent...especially for the Yugos.
Interesting...I'll have to look for that. I saw the dunk, but I don't remember his free-throw style. I guess he wants to "be like Steve!"
I should have posted this earlier so people could see it as it was going on sorry, or in Canadian soory. If you would have seen it you would have been like...
I only was able to watch the last quarter of the game. That is kind of neat that that player, the 'German Iverson', copied off of Steve. I guess Steve is popular in Germany also.
