There was no way I was going to sit in a theater packed full of kids, so I watched Slither on Saturday. By the looks of the dismal $3.7 million opening weekend, it looks like I'm the only one I thought it was a great movie...gory, funny, and a little bit suspenseful at the end. The best part was that the humor was evenly spread throughout the whole movie, instead of just a couple of funny parts. It really pokes fun at hillbillies/Southern small town life. If you're a fan of the horror/comedy genre, you'll love it. It's obviously not for everybody, though
I wanted to, but I only went to the movies because I had to watch my sister and little cousin while my mom and aunt were visiting my uncle in the hospital. It just didn't start close enough to the movie they wanted to watch, so I saw V for Vendetta again. Still a lot people in going to that. I can't believe Ice Age 2 did 70 million though.
I saw "Thank you for smoking", and that was withou question the funniest movie i've seen all year. And it wasn't 3 hours long like a lot of the movies I've seen recently.
A-Train, was this a funny mock horror like Shawn of the Dead or is it full of hummor like Army of Darkness? I think it isn’t going to do well because by all the promo stuff I've seen they are trying to play it off as a REAL horror, but if this is along the same lines of Shawn I'd go see it..
It was along the lines of Dawn of the Dead...a legit thriller with comedic elements throughout. It wasn't really a "horror" movie, though. It was more science fiction. My friend with whom I saw it called it a "gore-omedy"...
It looks like a good movie and I plan to see it sometime, but I'm just not in the mood to go to the theatre right now. Want to see it because the dawn remake was one of the best movies I'd seen in a while and this looks like it fits right in to that mold.
Usually I avoid any horror movie that was made in America because frankly they're awful and recycled, but since Firefly's Nathan Fillon is in it I may give it a shot!
INSIDE MAN pwns this movie by 100(I did not see slither, but from the commercials it already sucks, lol)
I saw it. definately, along w/ inside man, which i also saw the week, one of the best movies i seen all year
This thread deserves a bump... I saw this movie last night and it is one of the most entertaining movie I have seen in ages.
