Al Gore was on last night, and it looks as if his self-imposed year in front of real people has been successful. He was really funny.

He kept ad libbing, and just being normal. It was pretty cool. There was one point in his top ten list where it even looked like he ad libbed a little bit w/ a "we'll work 24/6" (alluding to Lieberman's faith).

Pretty funny stuff. He looked really comfortable, which is interesting because Bush is supposedly the 'likeable guy' and I haven't really seen that yet.

I wonder how long Gore rehearsed for that appearance?

If he did rehearse... one thing could be said:

At least he learns stuff at his rehearsals. [IMG]

    "subliminable"? Twice?

Or better yet when he was responding to the dyslexia allegation:

"The woman who said I had dyslexia, I never interviewed her." LOL. [IMG]

He was very good on Oprah too. If he didn't have the chick vote before that, he surely does now.

Lieberman was on the Daily Show and on Conan O Brien where he sang Frank Sinatra's "My Way" (suprisingly well).

Conan also did his TV screen "fake interviews" where he talked to Gore,Bush and Cheney. They had Fake Gore talking about his "hot daughters" and Fake Bush asking Fake Cheney for some cocaine (thinking the mic was off)

    Bias? Humor is subjective...

Don't you find the "24/6" quote funny? I think it's hilarious. The rest were merely jabs between TheFreak and I about our supposed candidates. If there is something that I'm not supposed to be 'biased' about, I'm not sure what it is. I laugh at x, I laugh at y.

It's not as if I'm trying to make an argument that Bush is a bad candidate b/c he communicates very poorly. It's not as if I'm making the argument that the next president should be able to speak coherently.

The reasons that I disagree with Bush are much more sophisticated than that.

I hope you didn't take our previous disagreements seriously, because I sure as hell didn't. [IMG]

    I wonder...

Gore and Lieberman have really been hitting the airwaves with appearances on just about every major talk show. In addition to those mentioned above, they have been hitting the morning show circut pretty hard. Even Hillary seems to be making the circut for the Democrats. Bush and Chaney haven't been on any. Talk shows are a great way to reach out to the public -- And as Achebe points out, it's making them look awfully good.

Do you think that Gore/Lieberman are pursuing talk shows, or that the talk shows are pursuing them?

And on the other side, is Bush/Chaney avoiding talk shows, or not actively seeking them? Are the talk shows just not interested in presenting this side?

    Thoughts?

dc, Bush will be on Oprah tommorow.

Letterman has tried to get Dubya on but he has refused to be a guest.

The Daily Show has had several Republicans on like Bob Dole, John McCain and Mary Bono. Being on a low-rated cable network, I'm sure they're not too picky when it comes to high-profile guests.

These shows are based in New York or L.A. so unless they are doing a campaign stop nearby, it's hard for these shows to book them in advance, which they must do far ahead of time.
