For the 2000 race, Alexandra Pelosi was on the trail with Bush and made Journeys With George, now she follows the Dem candidates during the primaries and eventually Kerry after he wins. Should be an interesting look at the inside of a campaign trail and hopefully offer a different look at Kerry the way the other doc offered a different look at Bush. The premiere was last night on HBO, but it was during the Stros game which had priority. The next airing is Thursday at 5:30. It's an hour long so it'll be done half an hour before game 2. http://www.hbo.com/docs/programs/diaryofapoliticaltourist/
saw the last 45 minutes or so- noone came off looking particularly well, including pelosi, who seemed fairly ditzy. and kerry...so wooden, almost devoid of personality. didn't see the first one, so maybe that's how bush came across in 2000 too.
Actually, while searching for an official site, I came accross a review at Slate titled "Diary of a Political Twit." It was pretty harsh on Pelosi. http://slate.msn.com/id/2108026/ I think I'll watch it nonetheless, not like I have anything better to do before the game.
I saw the first one, on Dubya in 2000, and it was entertaining. I have heard that this one is nowhere near as entertaining, simply because the Dem candidates this year are just not as downright funny as Dubya. They're just a bunch of boring politicians, as opposed to the poster child for malapropism.
John Kerry can be pretty entertaining as well!!!!!!!!!!! I wonder if he likes ketchup on his waffles also???[
My bad. I guess you took it the wrong way buddy. Did not mean to dampen your day with my entertaining John Kerry picture (after RocketmanTex laid it thick w/ the insults on "Dubya"). I guess you missed that part huh? Or did you call him out for his partisan shots also somewhere else? Don't waffle with your heartfelt answer.
Uh, RMTX did the same thing that basso did, which was point out something that everybody can see is true. Kerry is wooden and lacks personality(I guess you completely missed that post) while Bush stumbles with his words. You called Kerry a gold digger which is just a straight up insult and the waffling thing is partisan rhetoric that is very debatable. Whatever logic you use to call Kerry a waffler can be used on Bush as well. If you wanted to post that picture so badly, you should have put it in the "you forgot about poland" thread. I just wanted to talk about a documentary. The things that basso and Tex said are evident in both documentaries. Your picture also derailed the thread. I only hope that you can now see the obvious difference.
Talk about a documentary in the Hangout if you don't want me to discuss some of John Kerry's attributes in the D&D in reply to some OTHER poster, not your initial thoughts. Sorry, I guess I should have included the link http://www.nojohnkerry.org/imagemedia/counterpunch/golddigger.jpg (which you can right click on most pictures attached anyways. I do not take credit for the Golddigger reference, just the waffle one )
I enjoyed it tremendously. Loved the bit where Kerry is all alone, kicking a pebble around the street.
Time to take off your blinders. If that is "laying it on thick", you'd better move out of the country until after November 2nd and the associated partisan shenanigans of both parties. You are obviously a wee bit hyper-sensitive.
