I have NO clue whatsoever about diamonds and what I should buy and how much I should spend. I have no knowledge and I surely dont want to get ripped off. Does anyone here have any idea? I want to get my girlfriend diamond earrings for Christmas and i dont want to insult her by buying cz but i cant afford 1000.00 just for earrings LOL. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Don't expect large or high quality for $1000. Remember with earrings you have to buy 2 diamonds. If you look into getting her a diamond pendant you will end up getting her a better diamond for the money. Diamonds are expensive, good luck with your search.

Best site that I've come across for such inquries: www.pricescope.com (but it's more targeted at engagement ring-type purchases ;))

Get her a diamond ring instead, and kneel when you give it to her. There's a chance she might think it's a proposal, but I can't verify the odds.

Seriously, I don't know jack about diamonds either.

    Two words...

    Cubic Zirconia...

If that does work, well, you'll have to spend big bucks...In all my years of marriage, I never got that, but I did spend the bucks on a past, present and future ring...man, did I get sucked into that one...

Yep, I also love the one they do with some kind of perfume or something. I can't really remember. Passion of something like that....calvin klien or something. I just remember the two voices saying the one liners for the product.

Just get the CZ. You can buy them on ebay. Search under CZ earrings or rhinestone earrings.

    Look, they're just shiny rocks.

If you really feel the need to shower her with money - do that, too. Get a thousand 1 dollar bills and dump them over her head. Then she can buy what she wants.

Buying gifts isf a problem game. It doesn't really make the girl like you. It often pushes them away. They read it as an attempted purchase. A good gift has to be more of an invitation - something the girl can complete and contribute to and feel good about. I think she has to be able to take the thing - whatever it is - and make it personal somehow - where she can complete the invitation to express and enjoy herself. That's why a vaccum cleaner is always perfect. ;).

My only advice is this: If you're going to shell out for diamonds, make sure you're going to marry this woman.

tell her that you were going to get her diamond earrings, but decided to use the money to give to charity instead, knowing that she would be happier with you if you did that. give her a backrub instead. See if she has the balls to complain, and if she does, you'll have to accept that you are dating a woman with balls.

There is a Zales outlet in Katy Mills Mall.. I got a pair there for my woman they have better prices than the other Zales stores.. I got them at a good price for the quality that they are, not the most clear you could find, but the price was right... My woman doesnt know crap about all that stuff so she was very happy.. Oh yeah she lost one of them about 6 months later, make sure to get screw backs so they dont slide off really easy.. hope that helps..

I've got some advice. USAA has a shopping section on their website that has really good jewelry...including diamonds. I found you a pair of diamond earrings that look pretty good and they are only $399. USAA is a quality company and they have quality diamonds. I trust them and I just ordered a pair of pearl earrings for my Mom as well. They have some cool items for sale. It's no worry shopping.

    Here is the description:

Precious 1/2 ctw. Round Stud Earrings
    $399.00

    Item #303487

1/2 ctw. round diamond solitaire earrings. Part of our Precious Collection, which offers round- and princess-cut diamonds at L color, I2 clarity. Designed to give you the highest quality at the best possible price. Choose from 14kt. white or yellow gold.

USAA maintains one of the industry's most advanced gemological laboratories staffed by GIA Graduate Gemologists. You can feel confident knowing every piece in our collection has been inspected by our gemological staff to ensure uncompromising quality and value.

I think the earrings look really nice. I wish I could link to the picture of them but the site is secure.

I think you have to be a member to shop at USAA but I'm not sure. My understanding is this is a member's service but I think we(or you) can work around that in some fashion. I know I had to log in to see the shopping section. I also know they have a magazine they produce so maybe you can just call them up and check that out.

I dunno...just trying to help. I just totally set you up if you take my advice. If not, then that's your problem still. I also want some free fudge out of it. ;)
