for some reason i get the feeling that if the astro's win the world series then the rockets will win the championship this year too.

maybe because clemens has become tmac's mentor. maybe because it seems that when a city has a winning team the other teams tend to do better too. maybe because we have a team that can compete with anyone in a 7 game series.

i was never a baseball fan in my life. i find it boring, however because of this feeling and knowing how much tmac can learn from this i have decided to watch all of the games. even root.

i just want to know if anyone else has the same feeling.

not that i believe in this kind of dynasty, but just to further stoke this theory, when the pistons won the championship, their wnba team also won that year too...

There is definitely a synergistic effect between the two sports teams.

The Rockets are definitely one of the top contenders for the championship. When teams are playing at that high of a level, what separates the champs from the contenders is mostly mental. The team with the swagger, the thirst, and the expectation to win it all, will do just that.

When the Astros win this series, all Houstonians will raise their expectations for all sports teams in this city. That is a good thing. Our coach and our players are solid guys who will rise to the challenge.

I think there is no correlation.

Not to mention the Angels and the Lakers a couple of years ago. Hand in hand championships are more common than you might expect.

I'm not psychic. All i'm saying is that if the astros win the world series then i would bet on the rockets wining the championship.

plus, the astros havent won yet so there is no synergy (as VWiggin put it) created yet.

just remember me for clutch classics when i say "if the astros become champions this season then so will we."

Not to mention the owner of both those teams, Bill Davidson, also owned the the team that won the Stanley Cup that year. Talk about upping that bankroll!

Boston and New England last year.

Hell, in 1986, Boston had a team in all four major sports finals. Of course, they only won one of them, but that's an amazing year for those fans.

Well with the Astros being down 2-0 against the SoX now. I hope we don't share the same fate. It's going to take a miracle for the Astros to win it now... Hopefully the Rockets won't ever be in this situation.

You do realize that this website got its namesake from the Rockets ability to overcome the exact same situation the Astros are in now.

I still think the Astro can come back.

There's nothing to stop Rockets becoming a championship team, within 2 years, Rockets will get at least 1 ring.
