His game reminds me of Vince Young and a little Johnny Manziel, but he I must say he is far more composed and grounded than those two busts. His interceptions and low Wonderlic score are concerns. A faster game in the NFL is not kind to QBs who rely on their legs, and arm strength and accuracy are keys to success for NFL QBs -- these are not strengths of Watson. I do not like the cost of moving up -- would have rather stayed put and built the OL while perhaps taking a QB later in the draft. I hope I am wrong about this, but it is extremely rare that I am wrong.

    GOOD DAY

I have no idea whether I like Watson or not, but I do like the fact that O'Brien and Smith just put their nuts on the dresser.

This is Matt Ryans Draft profile flaws

This is the only comp that gives me hope for Watson. Please turn out to be Matt Ryan.

Fun fact: They comped Matt Ryan that year to Ol Schauber

Not a bad price at all to jump that many spots.

Love it. Perfect situation for him. Could not be a better fit.

I think he's got a shot at being a Russ and Dak hybrid. He's just got to cut down on the turnovers.

I think this is Savage's team until he gets hurt. But Watson will be ready. He's got a huge chip on his shoulder and will work his ass off since two QBs got taken in front of him.

    I love it.

Can't wait to hear/see his interviews.

    Posted in draft thread...

Let me get this straight, we play one of the hardest schedules next year, browns have our 1 and 2 pick for next year, watson needs to be red-shirted and we have an injury prone qb (savage), and top it off... rumors flying that OB might be leaving.

I want to like this pick, someone make me like this pick... anyone, anyone... bueller... bueller? And please don't say this kid is clutch, VY was clutch...

I'm not a draft expert and haven't watched all of Watson's long passes at Clemson consecutively on film, but his deep ball seemed fine to me.

He regularly threw jump balls to Mike Williams, on purpose, but I've seen him lead other guys down field.

If he can stay poised and make smart decisions it'll be good enough. I am not enamored by his pro prospects but at this point I think realistically I can hope that he is a solid game manager that has that special "clutch" gene that allows us to win big time close football games. That guy is worth trading up for.

assuming the Texans are in about the same pick spot next year, mid to late 20's is a second round pick (tbh)

You wanna make moves? You gotta make moves!

Great pick and FINALLY taking a shot at great vs. "ok"
