Derrick Rose is probably my favorite PG in the league next to Kyrie. But I'm sort of getting tired of waiting. Whats taking this guy so long? He's been cleared medically but the rest is mental. Wouldnt you think playing a couple minutes here and there would help out with the mental part? Sitting on the bench waiting wont do much. When do you guys think he'll return and how productive do you think he'll be?

he'll be back next year. bulls aren't contending anyways. why risk your 23 year old star for a wasted season? i trust derrick rose more on his judgment of his own body.

How would you feel though if the superstar of your team gave up on the season with 15 games left and a post season birth AFTER he's been medically cleared to play? We might think they cant contend because we're not Bulls fans but DRose shouldnt be thinking he's not going to play because his team isnt contending he's not going to play this season. Thats quitting

I can empathize with him since he worked so hard to rehab last year and immediately went down again with the ACL tear during the playoffs. He's playing it safe. It's practically his life that he would be giving up if he injured himself again.

How would everyone feel if he rushed himself back and then got hurt again? The same mistake he made LAST YEAR.

There's a difference between quitting and being smart. Why rush back if you're not completely conifdent and comfortable in your self. I'm sure Rose knows his own body better than the medical staff and sure as hell better than you and I. The last thing D.Rose is a quitter and there's nothing worse than for him to come back and re-injur himself for the sake of making a playoff run. It's kind of late for him to come back anyways even with a playoff birth in terms of chemistry and getting up to game speed and NBA shape.

He's got a long career ahead of him and I'm sure the Bulls are okay protecting their franchise player. Just think about Gronkowski for example who came back too early and re-injured the same thing or Bynum who did further damage while he wasn't even playing basketball.

Trying to be a hero for one post season doesn't justify jeapordizing a brilliant future.

Doesn't really matter what anybody thinks. He should only come back if he feels he can play at his previous level, and only he can decide that. Who cares if he's "medically" cleared? He knows his body better than anybody...

I'm just saying he'll never know how his knee responds unless he tries. More than likely as hard as he's been working on it it's probably stronger than before

It would be good if he came back near the end of the season and playoffs. The psychological barrier would be broken early instead of waiting until next season.

But I understand his hesitation after what happened last year. This is not an easy thing.

He should shut it down. He's not a piece of meat. Give him the offseason to make sure everything was done maximize his chance for a full recovery.

this guy at my work was ****ting on him with the jist of it being 'hes been cleared to play stop being a little bi**tch' anybody who has had a remotely serious knee injury knows it takes a long time to build up that confidence, rose can take all the time he needs. if it isnt there, dont play, cause he'll be tentative and so much of his game is predicated on his elite athleticism. from personal experience, and a friend at highschool, "medically cleared" all that stuff, first game he back tried to side-step, and bam, redid it.

I mean he basically said it, he's mentally not ready. He's not ready for the rusty performances and high expectations yet but I think come playoff time he'll play. When he sees his team playing hard I dnt think he'll can just sit back and watch.

A doctor can't tell you how you feel. If Rose doesn't feel right yet, it can only hurt to rush him.

He doesn't owe that team anything. They went into this season treating it like a transitional year, letting Asik, Korver, Brewer and Watson walk.

Rose should take his time and come back when he's ready.

Would be pretty awesome if he made a "surprise" return against the Heat. If they could possibly stop their streak, it would skyrocket his confidence for this post-season.

Kind of a disingenuous argument considering Rose is making almost $10mm more this year (compared to last year) and the Bulls are currently the 5th seed in the east.
