For those of you who have been watching the Raptors Toronto series, has DeRozan impressed you enough to merit him into the best SG in the NBA conversation? We all know both player are beasts, but who has been a better sg/player after the all-star game??
Since the All-Star break... Derozan 39 mpg USG 27.9% 23.1/3.9/4.2 .432/.268/.860 TS% .548 Ortg 112 / Drtg 111 Harden 37.4 mpg USG 28.9% 27.7/4.7/7.4 .471/.419/.875 TS% .645 Ortg 126 / Drtg 108
Harden is no doubt better, but Derozan can play some defense as well. I'd still take Harden in a heartbeat
Harden is better. But I hope this doesn't turn into another "lets irrationally hate a player because he was compared to Harden" trend. DeRozan's pretty good. DeRozan's improvement has been fun to watch. He had no skills when he came into the league. Through a lot of hard work, he added something every summer and now he's a borderline all star.
from two years ago Derozan has improved tremendously though. I'd say he'll be on the tier of Iggy and J-rich in his prime. Not quite perennial all-star/superstar but he can be the 2nd or 3rd best player on a contending team I'd say. The Raptors are one good piece (and more playoff experience) from being a really strong team. He's only what, 24? If he continues to improve he'll be a pretty good player in the NBA. If he stays with the Raptors he could probably break a lot of their records.
its not even close and im not a harden fan. But harden can really score being first option on a good team, while derozan would probably be a 15ppg third wheel scorer on a good team. I value D a lot, and de rozan is a better defender, but still, harden is way better in everything else.
Sucking at pretty similar levels Derozan 39.5 mpg / USG 32.2% 24.5/3.8/2.5 .360/.182/.875 TS% .510 / PER 14.5 Harden 45.5 mpg / USG 30.5% 27.5/5.3/5.5 .350/.268/.871 TS% .472 / PER 15.0
how about the better SG in terms of playoffs. he's def playing well and hitting all the shots. like his poise. in gm1 he basically froze and made the trailer to Brick Mansions. Playoffs jitters. after that he was beast mode. btw Joe Johnson is also playing well - don't know his stats, but if you let him inside near the restricted area, his little baby hook/floater is money.
I would take away Derozan's first game - how are his stats then? i don't know where to do this - and compare with Harden. Derozan had a very bad gm1 because he was nervous
Derozan has basically had 1 good game so far in the playoffs. The only thing keeping him and Harden close comparison wise this playoffs is that Derozans free throw rate has jumped up to a level no where near anywhere in his career and Hardens has dropped to a level no where near anywhere in his career.
