He was damn good but not better than CP3. He was a big ass point guard that could pass well, could shoot the three off the pick, could shoot the midrange off the pick, he was big enough to get to the basket and finish well and take the contact and he was aggressive, he could handle the ball/offense the whole time he was in the game. Excellent asst/to ratio. Ran good 2 man game with boozer. At his peak he was as good a PG as anyone but didn't have the next level IQ of CP3 which is why CP3 is still in the league and DWill has been sitting on his couch for years. But his best year was probably as good as CP3's best year, except that CP3 was that good for many many years. His athleticism declined and so did his game. I loved the guy reminded me of a version of Billups that was an aggressive scorer. Had no weaknesses offensively, he was lethal.
BS once said Deron Williams was the Stone Temple Pilots to Chris Paul’s Pearl Jam. Still pretty accurate.
