I didn't vote for Obama, I'm against most of what he's for, but I can't imagine anything this stupid. It sounds to me that someone needs to get his priorities in line.

Well, in his defense, he's allowed to be stupid and run his business into the ground.

Do we know for sure that the poster did that? Or was he just trying to sound big on an Aggie forum? Anyone who did that violated Federal law, and should be held responsible.

He didn't explicitly say that he fired him because he voted for Obama, so he could probably argue his way out of any discrimination allegations.

It is illegal to fire someone because of their political affiliation. If someone did that they are in violation.

It looks like he's just up his own ass and gloating about some perceived poetic justice. Nothing illegal, but it is disgusting and petty. He shouldn't be surprised when Karma bites him back HARD.

I hope the other guy found a better job.

So this guy fired someone because he is anticipating "tax and reimbursement changes" that will come from this person voting for Obama. It's kind of amazing how business owners always seem to be much more worried about taxes than the overall economic climate. That whole thread (well, the part that I read) is full of stupid with way too much backslapping and Bush defending.

IIRC - you can't simply fire somebody from a non-political job for their political beliefs alone because it violates the 1st amendment - however if somebody is running around with "Obama sucks" t-shirt or something and the office has a formal or informal ban on that kind of thing you could fire them.
