I'm not sold on Favors long-term. Not saying he's a bust, but just not sure on him. I do think his trade value is great, and the potential lotto picks Utah got were outstanding. I vote Utah.

Utah. Derrick Favors will pan out to be a very good player and allows Milsap to be dealt or go back to his back-up role in a couple seasons. Jefferson-Favors front court sounds good.

Utah if the trades go through as expected, but there was some talk about Gallo being moved...

    Same here.

I think the lottery projected picks can be big if they draft yet.

But seriously, Gordon Hayward over the potential of Paul George???

    That's an awful pick.

I would have to say Den. Simply because of what they were able to squeeze out of NY despite Melo's preference being quite obvious.

Harris may thrive in Utah, but he is no Williams. Favors can do well in the medium/long term. The 2 first rounders will be valuable. In theory Utah did better, but they will miss Deron.

Utah got the better deal, but gave up a better player.

That said, when I heard they got Favors, my first though was: What about Jefferson and Millsap?

Paul Millsap needs to get traded for a legit starting SF.

They will regret passing on Paul George.

I think Denver got the better package. The linchpin of the Utah package is Derrick Favors and I'm with Clutch on him.

The barometer I use for him is DeMarcus Cousins. Cousins is obviously immature and still has a lot of learning to do both on and off the court, but you can also see where he is growing into a very good player. With Favors, you keep waiting to see those same signs, but they really haven't come yet.

Maybe I'm crazy, but Chandler could be the best player in the deal. Which offsets Favors' upside IMO.

I vote Utah. Denver got a lot of solid role players, but the Jazz got a potential All Star in Favors. And even if Favors doesn't live up to expectations, the Jazz still got two excellent first-round draft picks: NJ's 2011 pick (no protection!!!) and GSW's top-seven protected 2012 pick.

Denver's haul of New York's 2014 first rounder and a pair of second rounders absolutely pales in comparison.

Very ballsy move by Utah. I'm impressed.

    Agreed on Millsap part.

Also was there any doubt from any of your that Gordon Haywood was going to Jazz, because the second I heard he was coming out of college, it was just so blantly obviously the Jazz would overpay for him (if not the Jazz than the Pacers would, but since the Jazz picked first, they were the "lucky" ones.)

Give me Al Jefferson for anyone not named Martin, Hayes or Lowry and the Rockets will have the best deal!

Denver took a deal they really didn't want. And the draft pick they will receive from the Knicks will look like a low draft pick, while the Jazz traded a player a few notches down Carmelo for almost the same deal Denver wanted they win.
