He would be a great addition with his toughness and experience.
He is as good an athlete as there is in the nba, not sure what they are going to get for him. I would do a swift and howard and moochie for kmart and watson deal. howard played very well for denver about three years ago swift &martin are similar type players watson expendable moochie is expiring contract In my mind seems like a fair deals we do get the better player and they get lesser players but more cap flexablity.
would you do this deal ???

Sounds like Indy's not interested in a KMart for Artest/others swap and Denver is putting out feelers to see if they can work a 3 way somehow.

I would take KMart over Artest any day. KMart is what we need at PF.

I wouldn't. He's combustible and earning max dollars and is hurt half the time. And he can't even slow down TD or any other top notch PF. He's overrated.

Martin signed a 7 years astronomical contract last year. It still has 6 years remaining. He's 27 years old, in his prime, averaging 12 points, 5 boards, 1 assist and 1 block, and making $10 millions this year. In 6 years, he will be making $16 millions as a 33 years old. His contract is what's called a franchise destroyer. If we get him now, our franchise will be in cap hell throughout Yao and Tmac's perspective primes.

    OK, you do the math.

overpaid, undersized, injury-prone PF. I like KMart's energy and toughness, but I think he would be a poor addition, especially at his salary.

No to KMart. He makes close to max money and just isn't worth that. I'm a big Nets fan and used to follow him. (I post here because I'm a huge YOF).

Yes he's a good player and an upgrade over Stromile but just not worth the $$. Very limited offensive game and overrated rebounder. He'd be an absolute steal at the mid level exception but I think he makes twice that and he has many years left on that contract.

Dollar for a donut - I would try to get Eduardo Najera for a backup 4 banger. Think how much you hated his hitting playing for Dallas-he could do that for us.

K Mart is over rated - NJ Nets paid too much for him.....

    Najera has huevos grandes.

Couldn't have put it any better myself.

He's a better player than Swift but that doesn't mean Swift couldn't equal or better that kind of production, only difference is at a fraction of the cost.

I hate martin. I think he's crap. Just an overpaid pf thats way overrated. There is a reason why denver doesn't want him.

thats besides the point. Yao should guard Nazr, or Rasho and not TD. WE don't need our 2nd best creator/player gettin in foul trouble trying to guard the toughest post player in the game. Thats why we went out and got Swift, to hold his own, and help yao, not vice versa.

It's funny how everybody wanted Swift in the Summer, and now everyone throws him in whatever trade rumors. Whenever there is a rumor out there on any message board, or self-created proposal, people just want to rip off other teams by trading DW, Moochie or/and Swift with whatever star players. Come on, you can't afford 5 all stars or near all-star level players. Maybe there should be a rule that we can only post trade rumors or proposals on Monday or Tuesday:)

    we need to sign him

and then add ANOTHER contract onto the one he already has.

trust me I was a GM of a small junior high team a few years back, worked out brilliantly.

    Compare that to Swift...
9 points, 4.6 boards, 1 steal and 1 block, in 5 fewer minutes... shooting %s almost identical.

Pretty much a wash... for half the price.

In the 2003 Finals Duncan scored 32, 19, 21, 23, 29, and 21 when he was averaging 23 for the season.

In the 2005 playoffs, when Duncan had just come off a serious ankle sprain and had almost no lift at all, he scored 18, 24, 11, 39, and 39 in a season when he averaged 20.3.

    Martin is no Duncan stopper...
