They won 7 in a row and now has just surpassed both LA and Minnesota for the 8th spot. I never liked Denver and Karl, but they do look formidable at this point. On the other hand, if both LA and Minnesota are out of the playoffs, is it the first time in recent NBA history that both teams in the CF would be out of the playoffs the very next year?
Denver has had a really easy schedule as of late - I wonder how they'll fare against some good teams...
come on 7 in a row beathing who. Boston Memphis (injury ridden) Hornets (nuff said) Atlanta (nuff said) Indy (slumping) Clippers (good win) Portland (nuff said) we would be 10 - 0 playing these teams. J
Their March schedule is a joke. Once I took a look at that, I knew they'd finish ahead of the Fakers and possibly even the T'Wolves for that 8th spot. There's no way L.A. will make the playoffs with their closing schedule, so it's either Minnesota or Denver at this point.
As long as Denver or Minny knock out the Lakers that is fine by me. Love to see Kobe out of the playoffs. Also a hot Denver or Minny could give a #1 seed some trouble. Both have a lot of talent, it has been a chemistry issue and whoever is left standing has to be playing OK basketball. They will not be your chopped liver #8 seed, I would think whoever gets Memphis in round 1 will feel much better about. And I don't want to see Kobe in the playoffs, but if he is there he and Odom can give anyone trouble for a few games too. Again, the likely 7th seed Memphis is the team to play in round 1 in the West. If I am SA or PHX I have a little ambivolence about pushing hard for the 1 seed. Much more important to get Nash and TD in the peak physical form prior to the playoffs starting.
I think people are nervous about playing Memphis and their depth. I actually like Memphis over the Suns I think that run/gun style fits right in with what Memphis likes to do. I think we (Houston) is the team people want to avoid in the first round and I dont care if we meet Seattle or the Suns. Neither team was in the playoffs last year so we have one year of experience on them. Our style of defense will become more potent in the playoffs where they let more physicality go on. J
considering this is basically a different team with different players from last year, we're basically going into the playoffs as a new timer all over again. but i guess the thing that we have going for us is the experience of our individual veterans. and hopefully theyll work together better than the other team's first timers.
People are completely underestimating the Suns. I want no part of a Steve Nash ready Suns team in the 1st round. People think we used to have trouble with his Dallas' teams. This is a more athletic version of those teams. I agree no one wants to play us among the lower seeds. But we would rather not have to play SA or Phx. Much rather play Dallas or Sac or Seattle in round 1, without question. I am sorry, but Memphis looks like the easy pickens. They play hard, have good defense and depth, and that isn't nearly enough to make noise in the WC playoffs. They got swept in 4 games for Pete's sake last year. Houston, Denver, Minny, even LAL--much scarier to a 1-2 seed.
I would be so happy if the lakers did not make the play-offs. then it is clear that T-mac is better then Kobe, and Everybody must agree that Kobe is overrated. He is such a loser. I would like it if denver makes the play-offs. I like the team and they have Elson. I do not get to see alot of denver games, but everytime i see Elson he seems to get in a fight or hurting Jermaine O'Neal(did you see how he made those 2 free thorws with just his left hand ). It is strange that a team with Garnett might not make the play-offs. This year is so different from last year.
