He emerged as a front-runner for Denver's head coaching job after four other candidates withdrew over a six-week period: NBA assistants Donn Nelson of Dallas, Eddie Jordan of New Jersey, Phil Johnson of Utah and Del Harris of Dallas.

I remember this guy. I don't remember if he was Pat Riley's assistant in Miami or NY- I think Miami. The reason I remember him is Riley gave him credit for early Miami success- tough defense. This guy really promoted Alonzo Mourning to Riley and the trade happened soon after......

The Nuggets have a promising head coach here....
