The majority of people that actually post in the D&D are definitely Dems. I expect the poll will come out the same way, but I suppose there could be a silent majority.

Yeah, those traitorous, libpig republicans are ruining America!

BTW I have never registered with a political party in 27 years of voting until this year.

    The Democrat Party.

    Neither.

... but it will be extremely unlikely that I vote Republican for the foreseeable future.

I think you could pretty reasonably make the argument that the last 7 years are a result of a person/admin rather than party. And that if Bush was a Dem, everything would have been reversed and that a Dem Congress would have been just as ridiculous, etc.

Unfortunately, that's the nature of power.

So much for the extreme liberal bias on the board. There is a higher percentage of Democrats and Dem leaners (vs. GOP and GOP leaners) among the general populace than there are on the board according to this poll.

    1. This is not true if we look at the results of any presidential election in my lifetime.
    2. As I mentioned earlier, there is a difference between voting in a poll and expressing an opinion in the D&D. Anyone who thinks that the majority of discussion here does not have a strong anti-Republican bias is an idiot or fooling themselves.

That would've been interesting to see... how many people would've taken a neither / other option.

    Libertarian sympathizer here.

The United States of America has a strong anti-Republican bias StupidMoniker, whether you like it or not.

Compared to repeated polls on Right Track/Wrong Track, Bush's approval and support for the war, the economy and virtually all of Bush's other policies, this BBS is (according to the poll in this thread) far more generous to Republicans than Americans in general are.

On party ID, it's slightly off in favor of the Dems but it's close.

I used to be an independent. In 1980, I decided to call myself a member of the same party I tended to vote for, the Democratic Party. So I've been a Democrat for 27 years. Will vote for the occasional Republican. I've never voted for a 3rd party candidate in a national race.

Want to see a very depressing graphic? For those who don't believe just how destructive 3rd party politics in national elections can be, look at this...

Yes, Major, my feelings against 3rd party Presidential politics goes back a long way.

Regardless of the outcome of this poll, I would estimate that 90% of posts in the D&D are liberal leaning. Of the posters that post in any real volume, I'd say they are liberal by a tally of about 20-1.

Of course, you will always have people that have trouble with data, numbers, logic, etc, like Batman Jones, who can't grasp the points listed above...

    fixed.

if i were to select one based on how i've voted the past 30 years, it would be

    Democrat: +3
    Republican: +3
    Neither: +2

    What does that make me?
