Gives him something to do, he might be like most NBA players, who end up spending more money than they make. If they hired a financial adviser..

I'm sure the owners will be having a good laugh over this, because it truly is a PR disaster for the player's union.

I'm still skeptical of all this -- seems like there's a million basketball related things he could be doing. This is just marketing for the furniture store.

The store owner needs to hide his mom.

Always so strange to me. Like, wouldn't you think a sports collectable store would pay a reasonable salary simply to bank on his attracting more customers to the store?

Or a private school/junior college/etc would hire him on as a skills coach?

Run your own workout boot camp, using all the training you've picked up over the years?

You'd think there'd be plenty of short term opportunities to make a buck off the fact that he's been an NBA-caliber athlete.

Good thing they didn't hire LeBron James, or he would sell everything at a 25% discount.

He might bolt for another job in no time though. Where Mr. Wade works.

Watch him injure himself moving a couch and never be able to get an NBA contract again.

You should also look at it from his shoes. This is a guy with some serious felony marks on his rap sheet and has known mental issues. He is blacklisted overseas due to his actions in the NBA. No respectable business or image cautious organization that pays well will hire him over the other much saner and "cleaner" BB players available. As far as holding his own training camp, which self-respecting parent would send their children to train with such a person? Besides, Delonte West is not a superstar and therefore will not generate customers on his name alone.
