Not sure if anyone can help me on here, but I am having no luck figuring this out.

I have the Dell 1905FP UltraSharp monitor that comes with the 4-builtin USB ports. I am having the hardest time getting any of the ports to work.

It seems like the drivers are upto date, cuz I can't find anything newer than what is already on my computer.

If anyone has this or the other Dell USB-enabled monitors, could you please gimme some pointers? Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

Ok this must be a sign... I was gonna order 2 of these tonight because of a really great cupon code, but I have been reading up on them and seen a few neg. reviews, but thats with anything now a days with the internet... this has to be a sign..

Back on topic-- I have 2 of the 17 inchers at work and no problems with the USB.. Just plug and play.. have you tried the port on the computer to make sure it is working with a thumbdrive or something??

Nah man, the monitor itself is AMAZING. Sharp picture, esp on the DVI and very nice look and feel, very very sleek.

    Definitely buy it.

Yeah, the port is definitely working ... it's the iPod connector, and it works anywhere on the computer, except the monitor.

It maybe because the port isnt powered.. I know I cant connect any external laptop hard drive on the builtin hub, not enough juice to spin the drive.. could be the same with the Ipod... I'll bring my Ipod into work tom. and see if I get the samething..

Da-Glyde, i just bought this monitor with probably the same coupon codes about a month ago and love it. buy it! you wont regret it.

Rockit, My ports work fine. This is my guess, i could be wrong. Did you plug in the usb cord that came with the monitor from the back of your monitor to a usb 2.0 controller card of some type on your computer? If you have a newer system it is probably built into the motherboard or computer somewhere. If it is an older computer, you will need to buy it somewhere. I bought mine here. The cheapest one is 6 bucks, great deal.

The built-in usb ports on the monitor act like a usb 2.0 hub and will not work without it being plugged into a controller card.

    hope this helps.
