Sorry if Im late on this.
But just heard Del Harris on the Rome Show and he mentioned that Don Nelson was now rejuvinated and ready to coach again.
That the many problems that led him to step down were no longer a concern.

Houston, TX (AP) - The Houston Rockets announced today that they have fired head coach Jeff Van Gundy. Van Gundy had 3 seasons with the Rockets and he led them to two playoff appearances both leaving in the first round. Carroll Dawson, General Manager of the Rockets has this to say, "Jeff has been really great for this organization. He was one of the people that turned this franchise around. But, this franchise now wants to head into a new direction. No more sluggish slow it down and grind it out basketball. No more defense, defense, defense. We are looking into a new exciting open court offensive team that will put 100+ points everynight on the boards. And no one can lead us better than the new Houston Rockets Head Coach, Mr. Don Nelson." Van Gundy will be replaced by former Dallas Mavericks coach Don Nelson. Nelson resigned as the Maverick's head coach because of health issues and was replaced by Avery Johnson.

--- damn! me and my imagination.. if its only true! lol! :D i would love don nelson to coach the rockets though.

So, instead of a low scoring team that gets beat in the first round, the Rockets will be a high scoring team that gets beat in the first round.

There's a reason Nelson has never been to the NBA Finals in his 27 years of coaching...

Yeah, I'm sure that would play to our star talents' strengths... After all, Yao is just great at running up and down the court, speedy and never gets winded or anything.

There is. He never had Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Jordan, Hakeem, Duncan, etc. on his team.

Don Nelson is a worn out old tire. Not much tread left. I wouldn't touch him if I owned an NBA franchise.

    Spot on.

When LB gets bought out and JVG brought in to NYK then talk to that (soon to be ex) Sac coach.

Adelman hasn't been to the Finals either. JVG has him beat on that score if that's what you are looking at.
