Hmm.. honestly not feeling the "Ranch" style look. But its clear they spent alot of TIME and MONEY trying to make an awesome school. The gym particularly is NICE. Who is this Andy Dekaney dude anyway?
http://classroom.springisd.org/webs/dekaney.campus/about_andy_dekaney.htm High school No. 3 will be named after Andy Dekaney a former Board of Trustees member who was first elected in 1987. During his years on the board, Mr. Dekaney served six years as president, three as vice president and two as secretary. In addition, he was a member of the Spring ISD Education Foundation Board and volunteered his time and energy to school activities including Westfield’s Project Prom and the Band Booster Club. Andy Dekaney High School is scheduled to open in August 2007 at Bammel Road and Imperial Valley. School Website: http://classroom.springisd.org/webs/dekaney.campus/
and damn, this is a public school? I hope no board member from Cy-Fair sees this, and ask for another bond to build a freaking retractable roof football stadium, and ten new high schools with olympic size pools.
That's what annoys me about luxury schools like this: there are schools where students have to share textbook or have to stand because there aren't enough desks, and the teachers struggling to give these kids the hope that they can be a success are barely getting paid enough to get by. But heaven forbid little Richy McSuburbia goes to school in anything less than a Harry Potter-esque utopia. Sickening.
That's not the point. I also never said it was in the slums of the city either. The point was that the school will likely be composed a vast amount of minorities and will also likely have more lower class childeren than upper class. Certainly not land of your typical "Richy McSuburbia".
I like it, maybe the kids will take more pride in that than the generic office building type. Money well spent. DD
forgot to mention they have like a 50 inch waterproof plasma on the outside of the school lol if you live by 1960 and imperial valley you can't miss it
