Me and friend were discussing does CHEATING start with SEX or is it possible to Cheat without sex? I say sex is just a component of Cheating He states "As long as the person isn't *doing* anything it is ok" For the Lawyers Could you file for divorce for cheating/adultry if the other person never had sex? I guess I wanna know the LEGAL definition and the SOCIAL Definition What does the BBS think? Rocket River
IMO, cheating starts with lust and desire .....no physical contact has to be made for it to be cheating
This is a difficult question, really. I would say cheating can begin without sex but sex is the ultimae backbreaker in cheating. I mean if you take another person out to the movies because they like you and you like them but no sexual acts have been performed, I would still call that cheating but it wouldn't be as bad as sleeping with that person.
I haven't a clue when it comes to a legal definition, but I'll give you my personal "social" definition... cheating: doing anything that your significant other would consider "cheating". If you're not sure if they'd consider something "cheating", it's your responsibility to find out first. In other words, it's something that is worked out within each particular relationship

To me, it depends on how the significant other in your life feels about it. My wife doesn't care if I go to a strip club or even get a lap dance (which I have not done since we were married, FWIW). So, how would that be cheating? However, if my wife did care and I still got one anyway, then that would definitely be cheating. I'm glad I can lust in my heart, though.
I am having my bachelor party next Friday. My wife to be said she has no problem with it, she has said it would be fun to go. My ex was a differnt story, when I went to my friend's bachelor party he bought me one, when I got home and she had found out, she was pretty pissed, there for I am glad she is my ex.
If that relationship with another is something you can't answer honestly to your girl, then you already have an idea of whether it is or isn't...
If you're in your 20's and in college, there's really no such thing as cheating. You're just having fun and meeting different people. If you're married, just having serious thoughts about someone else is cheating. By someone else, I mean someone else in your life, not Salma Hayek.
RR -- as for your question about divorce...you don't need a reason anymore, so these definitions are next to useless, as i understand it, in family law matters.
It's your own guilt. If you feel you cheated, then you did. If the other guy says that you're not cheating if you don't touch. Well... If his girlfriends disagrees, then it doesn't matter what he thinks. It goes both ways.
