So I got a speeding ticket for going 47 in a 35. jersey village cops suck

My court date is next month, and ive already taken defensive driving in the past year. I know you can only take it once a year, so am i pretty much screwed and have to pay the ticket?

Figured i'd get a quicker answer here than calling up the courthouse which is probably closed right now.

There is always the option of deferred adjudication.

Yep- go to court, ask the assistant DA for deferred adjudication. You'll have to pay the fine, but it won't go on your record, and you can't get a ticket for 3 months or so because you'll be on probation.

will it be the fine on the ticket....or another fine?

man im hoping it's another fine. these fines out here in jersey village are ridiculous. it's like $238

Nice [not] Rollin, I believe it will be the fine, PLUS another charge. But look at it this way, man, it won't be on your record and it is considered a way to encourage you to drive slower and more carefully during those three months. You also don't have to deal with going to DD (not DaDakota) class .

I would take deferred adjudication over having a violation on my record or taking defensive driving any day of the week.

You're the one that can't follow clear cut rules. You suck.

The Jersey Village cops HAVE to be tough. That's OCP territory.

I live near there and got a ticket once. I went to their little court/building in JV and requested deferred judification. I dont drive through there anymore.
