That seems to be the attitude among every member of the Houston Rockets these days. As usual, the Rockets lost this game in the fourth quarter with atrocious defense and extremely poor shooting. Someone needs to explain to them that in order to win games defense MUST be the number 1 priority. If Rudy has tried to explain this to them then it obviously hasn't gotten through because they haven't improved much at all (especially in the fourth). But I guess on the brighter side, they have been in most games up until the fourth, which is a good sign, but until they can play defense in crunch time they won't win a damn game against any team of worth....that much seems evident. I hope that when Hakeem returns that he can provide the veteran toughness and leadership that they so sorely need. Come on boys, get ya selves together!! KANE...
10-2... when i first turned on the game, the score was 10-2... I was horrified... then it became a game... w/ 3-4 minutes left in the game it was 79-77 por... then portland went on a 10-2 run, and made it 89-79 portland. trippy...
I thought Steve Francis could play Defense? If he can, I have not seen it yet. DaDakota He does seem to do ok for the most part on offense though...heheh
we played good defense for most of the game except the 1st and 4th. I cannot believe how Pippen killed us in the final minutes. You can't let Scottie stop and pop! Especially not twice. thank you.
That is because we don't have a true SF and we need a rebounder. Two aspects we definitely need to improve.
Actually, Dane, Shandon was guarding Pippen at the time he took at least one of those shots in the 4th. Or not guarding him rather. He stayed off of him, I guess cus he had been missing but you can't do that. I'm a Shandon Anderson fan but I thought that was a mistake unless it is the way our defensive scheme is and that is what Shandon was supposed to do. I have never liked the way the Rockets rotate or whatever on defense. The other team always, always has a easy time getting an open man. It's like we dare them to make the open shot and they do. On the other end, we don't seem to get those same easy shots. My biggest complaint this season is worse defense than ever in the 6 years or so that I have been watching the Rockets. Privately, I thought a lot of that was Chuck, lol, but without him we aren't any better on defense, it seems. One or two games we played good defense so maybe it is the players as much as the system. I have no idea. I just don't like guys wide open without having to work for it.
