Now I'm sure Rudy and the other coaches want Eddie to be our Robert Horry type player. Play solid D and jack 3 pointers, but I really see Eddie, potentially, as a Ben Wallace type player. If we just told Eddie don't shoot and just purely focus on defense, I'm sure, at least, 2 blocks and 9 rebounds shouldn't be out of the question.

Everyone seems to be looking for the right offense, and it is a problem, but I think a tune up with a defensive PF (Yao will need some years) and a Kobe stopper (doesn't every team have one?) should get us into the playoffs next year.

Ben Wallace or maybe Joe Smith?

Eddy game is present headed the direction of Joe Smith's but I like or rather prefer his upside in contrast to Joe's.

In spite of his "little" thing last week, I truly truly still believe in Eddy. All this kid needs is just a little bit more time, better role models and of course better coaching.

Remember he is still growing. If we give up on him early, it will be our lose. The good thing here is that we don't need him now or next season to finally arive as a gem or even a star. With proper guidance and encouragement Eddy will bear good fruit for us come harvest time.

    I still believe.

Are we watching the same games? A Ben Wallace type? I won't say this won't be the Eddie of the future, but right now his man to man D is one of his biggest liabilities. Wallace plays with fire. I don't see any reason to think we'll see that attitude from Eddie ever.

Actually...yes I thnk he can become Ben Wallace.

We'll just have to wait 8 more years with no playoffs.

I think Eddie has "fire" , but it is not on the court. Ben Wallace is intimidating. Eddie is about as intimidating as wet toilet paper, unused.

If he gained fourty pounds of solid muscle and went to Tony Robbins training , then maybe.

I think Eddie would have to eat alot of cheeseburgers to be like Rodney Rogers. BTW, weren't the Rockets interested in Rogers at one point?

I don't know, were they? I remember he was supposed to have pretty good upside. I believe Phoenix drafted him. Unfortunately all he does is stand on the outside and shoot 3's.

Should we really be shopping Eddie when his value is at an all time low?

Jeez! All you guys are giving up on a 20-year-old that you KNEW was a project when we drafted him. We need to let him add 15 more pounds of muscle this summer -- just like he did last summer -- and he will be a 250-pound monster. Had he gained 30 pounds all at once, he would have been a slug on the court. By doing it gradually, he can actually use it.

Eddie has the fire. He just needs the focus. Then somebody will just need to give him an Amare or Hakeem tape on rebounding.

Les, pull-ease let Moses Malone tutor him so the Griffin burst forth with the characteristics of his namesake: wings of an eagle, agility and strength of a snake and heart, teeth and claws of a lion.

No his value is not at an all-time low. We can get pretty good value in return if we really want to trade. He's young, has "upside" and "potential" (that means you haven't done anything in the league in fact, but hey GMs like that), is only on a rookie contract. That's a nice combination.

I'll tell you one thing, his offensive performance is comparable to Ben Wallace.

Eddie has a LOT of holes in his game, and he has to really really surprise us to be worth what we gave up for him. He needs to bulk up more than he did this past offseason (add 10lbs of muscle) and also fix the arch on his shot. If he comes to training camp with those 2 things taken care of, I will be very optimistic about him.

Naturally, I'd rather not wait for Eddie to grow, and would rather package him for a bruiser that would help us right now.
