As I was checking out a thread I came across the opinion of Fichte which was that Dincan is not the next Olajuwon and is more like Kevin McHale. First of all let me say I am not calling you out or trying to put you down Fichte. For all I know you might be right and what I am about to say might be wrong. But it's late I saw your reply and I need to do something to kill time. The first and probaly most similar similarity between Duncan and Olajuwon are their physical builds. Both go aroud 7 feet, and 250-260 pounds. They can both run the floor, and play great defense. Each player can post 30 points in any game and are perenial 25-30 PPG scorers. They also can lead the leauge in rebounding and blocks (although Olajuwon is the better blocker). But the Biggest reason Duncan is more like Olajuwon then McHale is that he is a leader just like Olajuwon. McHale, although being a great player was never a leader as that role fell upon Bird. So, theirs my argument. And Fichte if you read this I would like to see why you feel Duncan is more like McHale as I have given my reasons for why he is more like Olajuwon.
dream was more vreative than duncan. he was the allen iverson of centers. duncan's moves are planned by coaches, they seem so machine like. he produces like a machine too so i guess it works.
Although Olajuwon could rally his troops on the floor by inspired play, he was much less of a leader vocally. He was always one of the quieter more reserved players when it came to vocall leadership.
