So I decide to try my roommate's toothpaste because mine is shriveled and empty. I start brushing after about ten seconds and look at the label with disgust and read "Colgate." What the hell is wrong with this crap? Are they in league with dentists around the country to help obtain cavities for the working class folks who can't afford Crest? Colgate doesn't even have ADA approval?!? You might as well be brushing your teeth with a sword and some glue.

So I say, defend your toothpaste!

Crest is smooth, ADA approved, and I have never had a cavity using it since I first got teeth...

There was a short aquafresh period, I think I lured in by the pretty stripes, never tried Rembrandt, but because of the artist I bet I couldn't help but feel I was brushing my teeth with paint.

    colgate

this is one of those products where people are overwhelmingly likely to choose a brand based on what they used growing up.

Crest is like BBS dark and peeing in the shower. It owns this board.... (after insufficient data, but I have to go to work so I will just claim victory and raise my sword in triumph)

What the hell kind of toothpaste has the color orange in it? I thought red, blue, white, and many variations of blue were the approved toothpaste colors.

Where do you live? ME and my boys are going to be knocking at your door at 3 in the morning with swords and AK's before we go home and enjoy a nice meal seasoned with curry and then brush our teeth with Crest (not Crust  )

Unsurprisingly, grew up using Crest, switched to Aqua Fresh in my 20s, and have settled on Colgate :D So much for your theory ;)

I like the baking soda toothpastes.

I too have never had a cavity...or a broken bone for that matter.

i've been Crest most of my life. i think when i was REALLY young, i was using AIM. but i've had many many cavities!! I'm easily in the double digits, i lost count a long time ago and i'm only 25. ;( maybe my dentists have been scamming me, i dunno... but my mouth is full of silver everywhere. :D

interesting side story...i went to a dentist a while back who came up with this really aggressive approach. said i needed thousands of dollars worth of work. i left baffled.

went to get a second opinion...the next dentist couldn't find ONE problem!!! said my teeth were incredibly clean and that he didn't see much better very often. charged me the cost of a cleaning...said he wouldn't even know where to start, because he didn't see a problem.

lesson: always get a second opinion.

It's weird MM. I've heard more stories in the last couple of weeks comparing dentists to auto mechanics that it makes me kind of happy I haven't been in a while. :)
