I was thinking about this the other day as I bought a Def Leppard greatest hits (double CD!) off Amazon. This band along with Bon Jovi were 2 of the most popular "hair metal" bands ever. Which band did you favor? For me it was Def Leppard. I still remember having the Pyromania album on cassette. I loved every song on that album. Hysteria of course was great as well but it seemed like by that time Leppard was way too more interested in becoming mainstream (Hysteria was to them what Slippery Than Wet was to Bon Jovi).

I go with Bon Jovi, although for some reason, I never considered him to be die-hard metal.

If you can't get laid with "Never Say Goodbye" playing on the stereo, then you're just not trying...

Are there actually guys that like Bon Jovi?

Def Leppard's first 3 albums were great (On Through the Night, High and Dry, Pyromania) but everything after that was crap.

I'll go with DL by a hair. Bon Jovi has a big playlist of good songs and still perform at a high level. But DL beats them in quality. Joe Elliot is looking very bloated and his voice is taking a hit though. A couple of years ago at a concert, they played Sugar, Animal, Rocket, Hysteria, Love Bites, in order, an absolute murderers row.

When Pyromania came out Def Leppard was cool as ****. They were as cool as Van Halen for a bit. I remember the sleeveless British flag shirts and the helmet things. It's so early '80s that it's scary. But that's it, everything else they did was lame.

    Bon Jovi was always lame.

Def Leppard isn't a hair band; they were part of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Best band ever from England.

I never considered Def Leppard a "Hair metal" band.

Maybe Cinderella, White Snake, Poison, and Motley Crue.

My heart is ripped out and kicked accross the floor, spit on and then peed on...

This is like choosing which of your kids you like the most.

I chose Def Leppard because they were just awesome, but I still swear that Bon Jovi wrote "Wanted Dead or Alive" about me. And I truly thank him for it.

    Good times, good times.

(These freaking parachute pants are squeezing my balls into a grueling submission. I need to find me a bigger size.)
