One of my favorite bands of all time is on tour with Foreigner and Styx this month. I've never caught them live, so this one is going to rock. Still scouring craigslist for tickets. For the other Def Leppard fans, I would highly recommend not missing this show.

    8/29 (Wed) - San Antonio
    8/31 (Fri) - Houston (Woodlands)
    9/1 (Sat) - Dallas

Here's a sample set list from their tour in '05.

    1. Action
    2. Let's Get Rocked
    3. Women
    4. Foolin'
    5. Hysteria
    6. Promises
    7. No Matter What
    8. Love Bites
    9. Armageddon It
    10. Rock On
    11. Rocket
    12. Photograph
    13. Animal
    14. Rock Of Ages

    Encore:
    1. Bringin' On The Heartbreak
    2. Pour Some Sugar On Me

That should be a good show.
Unfortunately Marilyn Manson and Slayer are playing the same night in Houston

Saw them in 1980. They opened a three act tour. The Scorpions were next up and Ted Nugent was the headliner.

Seriously, my ears have never been the same.

I had tickets to see their Pyromania Tour when I was in 7th grade. But I failed a math test and got grounded. I remember everyone coming to school the next day wearing their concert shirts (the ones that looked like the British flag).

I would go to this show, but my summer concert budget is already in the red (Police, Rush, DMB).

Man, I wish Styx would tour with DeYoung again. Not to mention Lou Grahmm with Foreigner. Is it true Foreigner only has 1 original member? Can you really say it's Foreigner when there's only 1 original member??

I caught Styx, Foreigner, and the Police in that same timeframe... late 70's and early 80's. Who's DMB?

I know, that's way too much to pay to sit on a muddy hill. I really do hate shows at the CWMP. Only saving grace is that I know a girl who works at one of the concession stands, so I get free beer all night as long as I save my cup. ;)

I haven't seen Rush since 1987, so I'm super pumped. I phased out of them for a long time until I saw the Rush in Rio DVD and got into them again.

rimrocker, that era is when most of my favorite bands were in their prime. Too bad I was too young to go to concerts (without my older sister).

Me too. Other than not spending it with my wife, this birthday weekend for me will be my best ever!

Well, Rush has two long sets and an encore...about twice the number of songs compared to the Def Leppard puny setlist posted in this thread. It comes out to about 3 hours. So, 42 freaking 50 is worth it IMO. If you want to hear and see the show better, then get there early so you can get up front on the lawn. Nothing worse than being near the back of the lawn.

By the way, I will be 10th row at the Rush Dallas show this Saturday...sweatin my ass off to some awesome music. It's going to be HOT.

Hope you are up on the new album stuff...there's more of that than the classics. They just did their 30th anniversary "hits" tour last tour...so this is void of a lot of the hits they usually play. There are still some good ones, however. Yes, I peaked at the setlist. Major spoilage for me.

oh have faith my friend....I wont miss them

its just that last time I went to see Rush on their 30th Tour, it wasnt that much.

I always sit front and center at the bottom of the Hill, that is our place (just ask Mr Moon :D )

I have had S&A on pretty continous rotation on my mp3 player for the last week or two, so Im ok there.

and I know every other song they have ever performed, so Im good there.

look me up CF bruthas....front and center, bottom of the hill....look for a couple of old hippies. :)

That's funny... I feel that way about the late 60's early 70's. Maybe it's a rock and roll universal truism... though if so, Deckard's favorites would be Pat Boone and Paul Anka.

thats one of the great things about how I overlap the eras

I was old enough to go to shows in the late 70s, so I got to see some great bands from the late 60s (Sabbath, Purple, etc) thru current day.

only band I want to see from back then that I never got to was Zep.

and I hear the rumors are kicking again for a Zep Reunion tour with Bonzo's kid on the skins.

I'll believe it when I have the tix in my hot little hands. :(

    Never. Gonna. Happen..

John Paul Jones will not participate, and I can't blame him. Page and Plant screwed him with their mini-reunion.

    yea, thats what I figured.

but they were bringing it up on Dean & Rog a few weeks back, and Suzi said something about how this supposedly had more meat to the rumor this time.

but again, that was why I said it like I did above....I read the bit about JPJ not being interested, and doubt it will ever happen.

Which is mighty depressing...the only thing keeping me from seeing them the last time they came thru was getting in trouble and not being allowed to go...I was SO close. :(

The sole reason I want to see someone invent a time machine...so I can go back and see them at the height of their power....then I would want to catch Jimi...and a few others that quit touring before my time...then destroy the thing. ;)

It's not that JPJ was never interested. It's that Page and Plant did not even inform him when they decided to go out on the road to do Led Zep songs as Page and Plant. Ever since, JPJ doesn't want to have anything to do with Page and Plant. And it's weird...Led Zep never had personnel problems (i.e. band fights) like the Kinks, the Who or the Eagles. Yet, once Page and Plant did this to JPJ, Jones doesn't want to have anything to do with either of them. And you can't blame him....he was a big part of Led Zep's sound and he never gets the credit he is due. He's done some wonderful things since Led Zep as a player, producer and arranger. He arranged all of the orchestral strings on REM's "Automatic for the People", as well as lots of other things.

I had tickets to see them with Tesla opening in 1987 in Austin. Saw Tesla, who rocked, and left before Def Leppard came on. I liked High and Dry, but it was downhill for them for me after that.
