According to ESPN, the Magic on July 25 re-signed C Andrew DeClercq and PF Don Reid. With the Magic's frontcourt being so loaded (Don Reid, Horace Grant, Ewing, DeClerq, Steven Hunter), do you think Haywood could be available? Although he had his problems, Haywood was a more than capable center in the ACC, has great size, and has better overall skills (and a lower pricetag) than any other center currently signed to the Rockets. If I were the Rockets, I would make the effort and see if Orlando was open to trading the rights to Haywood (he's still unsigned). Not sure what we could give Orlando, but maybe some of you would have suggestions.

There was a rumor going around that Orlando was shopping Haywood, and there was a three way deal also involving Dallas and Howard Eisley. But it never developed.

They did let Amaechi go. I think they are ok at the center spot. You might see Haywood stay. He may even get some minutes.

There was a report in Haywood's hometown newspaper here in NC that Haywood was almost traded last week to Dallas in a 3-way deal involving Minnesota, too.

He has been included in more than one deal. Wish we cold have him.

Haywood has a poor work ethic & got manhandled by Alvin Jones. He could hardly run up and down the court 3 times before doubling over. He was a 1st rounder because he can block shots passably, and because he is not completely immobile, but mainly b/c he wore a UNC jersey.

You couldn't possibly be biased, could you? Nah!!! Doubling over after three times down the court? Exaggeration? All ACC fans love rival schools' players.

    Fair enough.

I will say that haywood swatted one of tmo's shots during a rout & in the middle of tmo's slump, then patted him in a nice way, almost as if he felt sorry for tmo. I think he's a decent guy. Seriously though, conditioning has always been a problem with him. Doherty had to switch him in & out constantly.

    Just yanking your chain Tmo.....

I used to room with a Blue Devil fan. Man that was hard to deal with!

You are right as far as Haywood's conditioning (all exaggerations aside). But many college athletes lack the stamina to play an 82 game season out of college. Especially the big boys. Hopefully, for Haywood's sake, he'll get whipped into shape before the season starts.

Here's hoping that Morris has a more successful career in the NBA though! I think we can agree on that!!

Haywood is absolute garbage. He got traded for Mike Doleac and might be cut by Orlando, a team with no Cs besides Ewing and DeClerq.

I once saw Haywood miss the rim on a jumphook in college. No one misses the rim on jumphooks.

Brenda? No thanks. I've always thought that Kelly was hotter than her.

Kelly is one high maintenance chick though, to the tune of 7 mil. per year. Brenda may not be as HOT, but she might make you and your pocketbook happier.
