Floyd Mayweather is going to broadcast on ESPN his 'Decision' whether he's going to fight Manny Pacquiao or not. Well, I won't be surprised if he does that, he's worse than LBJ for being an attention-w****. And yes, time is ticking... Mayweather's on the clock; Arum busting Floyd's chops on website. http://www.toprank.com/
The saga continues.... The world wants to know: Will Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather finally meet in the ring? A string of recent stories in the national media point to several possibilities.... Yahoo boxing scribe Kevin Iole reported that the fight is "inching toward reality. Pacquiao promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank said Wednesday that issues have been resolved and the only thing standing between the fight being made is a decision by Mayweather as to whether he wants to fight again in 2010. Arum has said for months that Pacquiao will fight on Nov. 13, whether it is against Mayweather or another opponent." SI.com reporter Chris Mannix adds: "Arum did not disclose terms of the deal, which is expected to be a 50-50 split and include some form of drug testing. The fight is scheduled for Nov. 13 at a location to be determined. Las Vegas and Dallas are considered the favorites to land the fight." "If Manny Pacquiao can't secure a highly anticipated fight with undefeated welterweight Floyd Mayweather Jr. for Las Vegas," writes ESPN.com's Calvin Walkins, "Plan B would bring the newly sworn in congressman from the Phillipines back to Arlington, Texas. "Pacquiao's trainer, Freddie Roach, said if the fight with Mayweather doesn't happen -- progress on the contract talks between the camps hasn't been publicized -- Cowboys Stadium would host a Nov. 13 bout between Pacquiao and an undetermined opponent." We report, you decide. http://www.toprank.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=23700&ATCLID=204965744 If it was in Dallas, how many in Houston would make the trip? Is it worth watching boxing in a stadium? Unless you have front row, isn't like watching it on pay per view except the beer isn't $8 a cup at home?
That's stupid on Mayweather's part. At the beginning I was kinda on Mayweather's side about getting random blood tests done up until the fight but what's the difference between Manny drawing blood 25 hours before the fight versus drawing it THE DAY of the fight? Are there PEDs that moves out of the bloodstream THAT quick? Right now, I just want both to get into the ring, knock each other senseless for at least 8 rounds, with the victor winning by KO.
Plus Pac said that they could draw blood IMMEDIATELY after the fight. It is starting to look like Mayweather is looking for any excuse to get out of fighting Manny.
If I were Pacquaio, I'd just retire from boxing right now and forget about fighting Mayweather. Manny's got enough money, wins, belts, and adoration from fans that he'll achieve legendary status faster than Floyd ever will.
He is a huge vergina...he wants to keep his record intact but he will always be known as a chicken who wouldnt fight his only legit threat...Pac would rape him worse than his own father has.
I'm sick of Mayweather and sick of his fans having his back when he's clearly throwing out excuse after excuse. Perfect record or not Pretty Boy, you will always be questioned if you don't stop ducking. Man up or STFU!
These are unreasonable testing requirements. And Pac just agreed to his original stipulations and then he comes out with more. The guy is a p***y.
Both sides had demands/stipulations and it's been pretty much a battle of "okay, I'll do this but you gotta do this" nonsense. It's been a debate over ring size, boxing glove size, doing a weigh-in on the day of the fight ($1 mil per 1 lb over weight class fine IIRC), when to draw blood, etc. Basically both boxers have danced around to the point where we miss the good ole days of boxers punching eachother out and/or biting one another's ears off.
How funny would it be if Money makes the decision in front of all the lights and cameras and says he WON'T fight? One would think his decision would be a definite YES he will fight but his track record might suggest otherwise.
I don't have a good feeling about this fight now. But I must say, Arum is one sneaky character. This decision stuff is hilarious though. ESPN needs to give Floyd a special.
