RIP That's too bad. I remember going to Giants' games in college at Candlestick and when Jose Uribe would come to bat the crowd would chant. "OOO! REEBAY! OOO! REEBAY!"
Pardon my old memory, but wasn't Uribe the guy whose wife died while giving birth to their child? For some reason I remember this. The wife of Jose Uribe, the San Francisco Giants shortstop, died today of a heart attack she suffered less than two days after the premature birth of the couple's third child, hospital officials said. Sara Uribe, 27, died during emergency surgery at Sequoia Hospital, said Paula Harrington, a spokeswoman for the hospital. Dr. Edward Anderson, a cardiologist, said surgeons found Mrs. Uribe had a fatal condition called pulmonary hypertension, which resulted in heart failure. The condition affects young women and has no cure, he said. Mrs. Uribe had delivered a boy by Cesarean section Tuesday after she went into labor in the 35th week of her pregnancy, about three weeks premature. The hospital said the baby, who weighed 3 pounds 7 ounces at birth, is in excellent condition.
