...although I will probably never stop with the nicknames, because it's fun, please accept my apologies for wanting you the hell off this team. I mean, you *were* a turnover MACHINE and all, and that Colts game is freaking unforgivable, but boy oh boy--and people tried to tell me this--decent backup QBs are hard to find. I couldn't imagine it before last season, but I'd be tickled freaking pink if Sage Rosenfumble was our backup QB. What a steaming pile of fecal matter we currently have. God bless Matt Schaub's bones and sinews, is all I'm saying. Good luck up there with the drama queen. If you get tired of it, I for one would be happy to see you back in H-town-----provided you don't try to leap for a first down, or run with the damn football hanging behind your back, of course. signed, msn

In fairness to Sage, that was very unlucky having two helmets hit the ball like that to knock it loose.
nope. there is no excuse for trying that. know the clock. all he had to do is lay down and let it run. but forget that. we need a backup QB that isn't pooh-pooh. i vote Rosencopter.
It worked for John Elway. It was 3rd down. If either of those helmets doesn't hit the ball the Texans win the game. If he slides, its 4th down on the edge of field goal range. It just so happened the worst possible scenario happened.
but that wasn't John Elway there. that was a career backup who'd lost two starting jobs. if he slides, it's 4th down on the edge of field goal range. And the Texans are still up by 17 points. And he's not mentally rattled from being an idiot once, not desperate, which makes him less likely to: * run with the ball hanging behind his back; * throw another pick on a bad decision stupid, stupid, STUPID play. perhaps the stupidest in the short history of the Texans franchise -- yes, stupider than Chris Brown's "halfback pass".
It hurts just watching it, doesn't it. For me, the Rosencopter part isn't as painful as looking at the clock and looking at the score. Wow. When you see the score and the time. you just think, "As long as we don't turn it over, we've won this game..... and it'd be a HUGE win against a tough opponent"
but seriously, forget that. i'm fine if we don't agree on it. my point is: i'd take Sage as the backup QB for this in a NANOSECOND. mea culpa, Mr. Rosenfumble.
It was down to 10 points at the time of the helicopter. It was awful luck for a city thats had its fair share of unluckiness.
Sage was about a .500 QB as a starter here before we traded him. I have serious doubts that either Orlovsky or JDB could achieve that ... and .500 is about all you can ask of a backup QB, otherwise they wouldn't be a backup. I'd bring Sage back in a heartbeat.
just watched it again. it wasn't "bad luck" that two helmets hit the football. Those guys saw the ball and hit it. on purpose. the "bad luck" was having a QB who would make such a stupid decision at such a critical time. but forget all that, Sage. just come on back to balmy Houston.
Let's be honest. . . . The last two years here . .the only reason Carr started in front of Sage was because they paid Carr alot of $$$ and the organization refused to admit a mistake. It is funny to watch the video but . . . He was basically trying to do ANYTHING to be memorable and audition for a starting spot he knew he would never get here because. . .well the guy in front of him was making the big $$$$ and this team would never admit a mistake of signing a guy for big dollars and then finding that the backup was better. Not saying Sage is better than Matt. . . but I am saying that in order to have shot at starting . .. Sage would not only have to show he was better than Matt. . but would have to do so by a wide margin. He tried it . . and failed. His history of watching David Carr step out of bounds for sacks showed him that about this organization. Rocket River
Granted. No argument there--at least not a coherent one! (video not funny to me. not. funny.) I'm not cool with him putting his own goals ahead of WINNING, if that were really the case. and he had to know, unless he's just stupid, that being that reckless would hurt his chances more than help them. case in point: dude lands a job with Minny; the whole time they were planning for him to be their backup. If he wanted to show he could handle being a starter, he would chosen the smart play -- the one that didn't involve jeopardizing possession with a ten-point lead. Well, I would argue he was trying to impress any organization that would give him a shot at starter.
