Dont need him. Should be fine with Fuller, Shorts, braxton and Strong. Hopeully they lowball Nuk. Not a positon of need.
I'm not going to freak out yet, I imagine they'll get this fixed soon, but this is just such a hilariously a Texans thing to do. I hope this is some top-shelf sarcasm.

Why are you all hating on Smith? Hopkins signed a 4 year deal. He's only completed 3 seasons. He will get paid...but there is a right way to do it. The Texans have to be smart about it and maintain flexibility going forward.
He wants an extension like Watt and Mercilus got. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/1...de-receiver-deandre-hopkins-eyes-new-contract It's a pivotal offseason for his financial future. Hopkins is entering the fourth year of his rookie deal, a time when the Texans have extended each first-round pick that was drafted under the current collective bargaining agreement, and he's hoping the Texans follow suit with him. J.J. Watt was the first in 2011, and he signed a new deal in September 2014. Outside linebacker Whitney Mercilus, the 2012 first-round pick, signed a contract extension in May 2015. Hopkins was the Texans' first-round pick in 2013.
What a bummer to start off camp like this. Watt hurt and Hopkins butt hurt. I don't blame him for wanting a fair deal but it's not like the Texans have, historically, proven to not take care of their stars. If anything, they've done it too often.
How many years do he have left on his rookie contract. And I don't blame him. He deserves a pay increase and no way hell Fuller should be making more than him.
Rick Smith, ha. And all these absolute no-name NBA players getting paid all this money? Haha. I will never get mad at an NFL player for holding out.
He has greatly outplayed his contract, but now's not the time for a new deal. He's got this year and another year under contract and next year he's got a cap hit of 7 mil making it the better time to work out a long term deal. After this season, they'll need to clear 15 mil a year or more for him but he's gotta give them one more season and he's gotta perform to get it.
Pay this man whatever he wants. And quick. This is why you got an extension Rick. He has played two seasons in a row with the equivalent of a third grader throwing him the ball, and has kept his mouth shut and put up numbers. If Osweiler is even slightly above average, this guy will be considered the bebest receiver in the league by most by season's end.
watt and mercilus got paid before their rookie contracts ended. he has every right to demand a new contract. they better pay up
