I was browsing some camera deals. I found this which I thought was insane. The camera alone new is about $799 even though it isn't the current model. Yet these two folks are selling the camera with a bunch of extras for $270 and $400? It seems very shady to me. Both sellers say to contact them before ordering. Is this a known scam that I hadn't seen before? https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B01CO6B26I/ref=dp_olp_used_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=used
I put a link in. I'll list it here as well. https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B01CO6B26I/ref=dp_olp_used_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=used
Seems like an obvious scam given the seller profile. But it's really dumb to scam people on amazon.... so who knows.
That's what I was thinking. Amazon is a strange place to try a scam. But the prices, and strange email only seller makes it seem very dubious. I'd rather be safe than sorry.
Just order it, if it turns out to be a scam Amazon will reimburse you. You have nothing to lose really.
i once purchased an item on ebay for something like 90%off, the seller sold about 90 units that day. then eBay sent me this: We’re writing to let you know that an unauthorized third party may have accessed the seller’s account to list this item. The item has been removed from the site, and the transaction was cancelled. We ask that you take the following precautions: If you already paid for the item: - Please immediately contact the payment service used to request a refund. If you have not paid for your item: - Consider this transaction canceled and do not send payment. ebay protection is a scam it self.
Those brand new sellers with an email are generally bots designed to sucker in other bots. Quite annoying getting emails of deals that are fake. You'll get your money back...how is eBay protection a scam?
Not if someone is silly enough to follow the sellers instructions and email them just so that they can make payment arrangements outside of the Amazon website.
after purchasing the item which i paid through paypal , they sent me the message above after a week or so to contact whomever i used their service to pay. its up to your credit card/paypal to cancel the transaction . eBay won't provide you with anything else. but yes ,possibly there could be a better way to handle it that i am not aware of /not willing to invest time to do so
