What In your Opinion was the best deal of the 20th Century

I think in the 19th Century it was the Louisiana Purchase

In the 20th I think Bill Gates buying Dos for 50K [According
to the Movie. . . but accuracy maybe suspect]

for the 19th Century my vote goes to the Alaska Purchase for 7.2 million in 1867 from Russia.

the 20th century is tough to call - I might vote for Microsoft "borrowing" Windows from Apple who got the concept from Xerox. If you can call that a deal.

Wasn't the movie called "Pirates of Silicon Valley" ? I thought that it was pretty good.

I remember being on my own for the first time, in my first place, first job and limited income... relying on cheap fast food meals...

studies have also shown that unfortunately these deals also led to the fattening of a generation and many unforetold health issues including heart disease and obesity. really? I don't know but it sounds good huh? Maybe... but I do remember cheap eats. What? Nothing.... I'm hungry.

Ok, I'm gonna throw out a couple of obscure ones and see who remembers them:

Sunday nights at Cooter's on Edgebrook, which was called 101 KLOL Psychodelic Sunday at Cooter's. 25 cent beer for 101 minutes (6 pm till 7:41pm).

    or

Chelsea Street Pub inside Baybrook mall. Wednesday nights were nickel night...all drinks (including call drinks) were a nickel all night.

    What a deal!
