    TRADE ACCEPTED
First I would like to say if you don’t think we need a trade, fine move on to the next thread. I personally don’t think we have to make a trade either. However, I don’t mind suggesting or discussing them. There is less than a month before the trade deadline, so don’t waste your time crying about how we don’t need a trade. It will be over soon.

If we are going to make a trade before the deadline I hope Cat is involved. It’s not because I don’t think he is a good player or because I dislike him. It’s because Francis and Cat in the same backcourt just don’t compliment each other well. Francis insists on playing PG so let’s bring in a SG with skills that combined with his, will make us a more well rounded team. A player with some passing skills that doesn’t need to score a lot, but can when called upon.

IMO Brent Barry fits that mold to a tee. That and the fact that there are many viable trade scenarios that work within the Collective Bargaining Agreement, is why I like a trade with Seattle. Here’s just a few.

    Houston trades: SG Cuttino Mobley
Houston receives: SG Brent Barry TRADE ACCEPTED

    Houston trades:
    SG Cuttino Mobley
    C Kelvin Cato

    Houston receives:
    C Vitaly Potapenko
    SG Brent Barry TRADE ACCEPTED

    Houston trades:
    PG Moochie Norris
    SG Cuttino Mobley
    C Kelvin Cato

    Houston receives:
    C Pedrag Drobnjak
    SG Brent Barry
    PG Kenny Anderson TRADE ACCEPTED

    Houston trades:
    SG Cuttino Mobley
    PF Maurice Taylor
    PG Moochie Norris

    Houston receives:
    PG Kenny Anderson
    SG Brent Barry
    PF Vladimir Radmanovic TRADE ACCEPTED

Why do people want to get rid of Cuttino and Cato so badly??

We are doing much better than expected, why cant we just be happy with our success and not trade two of our best players:confused:

If we could talk Francis into playing SG this would be a nice trade.

    Houston trades:
    C Kelvin Cato
    SG Cuttino Mobley

    Houston receives:
    PG Jason Terry
    C Theo Ratliff
    TRADE ACCEPTED

Jason Terry isnt a Pg. He needs to shoot the ball just as much as Cuttino.

Houston trades Cuttino Mobely, Eddie Griffin, Kelvin Cato, pick 2004.

Houston receives Elton Brand, Lamar Odom.

Or just any 2 for Odom.

    Or any 2 for Brand.

I guess my shopping list is

    Odom (repeat 100 times)
    Brand
    Kurt Thomas
    SAR
    Miller
    Snow

prolly in that order. But I can be had for price.

We've already traded our 2003 pick, so therefore we can't trade our 2004 pick. Against the rules to not have a number one pick two years in a row. Or something like that.

    Houston trades:
PF Eddie Griffin (8.5 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 1.1 apg in 24.8 minutes)
PG Moochie Norris (4.9 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 2.6 apg in 18.9 minutes)

    New Orleans trades:
    C Jamaal Magloire (9.7 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 0.8 apg in 29.5 minutes)
PG David Wesley (16.3 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 3.5 apg in 37.2 minutes)

    TRADE ACCEPTED

Magloire is the tough enforcer type that would be perfect at the 4 next to Yao. Wesley is a solid veteran role player that can back up both Francis and Mobley.

Cuttino Mobley and Eddie Griffin and Chicago draft pick obligation to the CLIPPERS. Tito Maddox to BULLS.

CLIPS send Elton Brand to Houston, Corey Maggette to BULLS.

BULLS send Jamal Crawford to Houston.

    ROCKETS:

    1. Moochie/Crawford
    2. Steve/Hawk
    3. Posey/T-Mo/Boki
    4. Elton/Mo-T
    5. Yao/Cato

    Problems? Backups are too expensive.

Reasons it would be good? Clips get a cheap contract in Mobley, whose presence might make Lamar re-sign (the Clips like Lamar, maybe because he screwed himself out of potential top-dollar: we shall see.) We get a taller PG so that we can move SF to SG. Maggette goes home to Chicago (that team needs a SG). And I guess that's it.

Will any of this happen? (*chortle*)

possum, why would u want to trade Cat for Brent Barry??? I hear your reasoning, but its not good enough to trade an 18, 4, 3 guy for 10, 4.7, 4 guy. Its just not....

And why in the world would we trade away Cat anyways??? His job in this team is to score, and he does it well. And he is even playing grad D this year...and he only makes 5 mil!!! Good bargain.....u dont trade that away.

    NO would never do that.

Second, why does everyone want to trade Cato, he' playing great and is arguably the best backup center in the league. If anything, he should be our starting PF- he doesn't look to shoot, blocks shots and rebounds, and would be the enforcer everyone says we need.

I say we ship Mo T for any backup PF we can get- preferably an athletic, Bo Outlaw type that would run the floor and add some defensive energy off the bench, and most importantly- DOES NOT need to shoot. Maybe even Kwame Brown, but I say that only b/c he's on the trade block.

Best trade of the bunch and within the realm of possibility.

The next step would be getting rid of Mo, I suppose.
