At first I thought it was going to be play by play of his funeral, but even better, one for the ages. Of note, Some people have been buried alive by accident, and dug their way out. I believe one person actually sat up in the casket and asked "what's going on?" Check it out for yourself.
I've heard that that kind of circumstance is the origin of the term "dead-ringer." They used to bury folks with a hole in the casket with a string running into the casket that was attached to a bell above-ground. If the unfortunate guy/gal woke up and weren't convinced they were in hell, they could pull the string and announce their good health to the grounds crew who could then dig them up. What a strange experience that must have been!
Another one I just read is that a ringer is a term for a substituted race horse. When the odds were just right, a horse would be replaced with a much faster look a like. The word dead is just an intensifier.
Actually the body hasn't been ID'd yet. The part at the end meant the sister mistakenly id's the body earlier in the week. That is why they thought it was Dane Squires. Now they aren't sure who it is.
