GentleBBSer's, Have not heard much talk about these guys, but I see that they are FA's, I know that Wesley is an undersized Old Fart, but Bogans is young and useable, do you think we will sign them back?
I am not so sure we'd re-sign both. Wesley needs no reasoning but Bogans would be good but I dont know where he'd fit only as a 3rd stringer but I dont know if he'll be happy with that type of role.
He could be a really valuable defensive asset if he could adjust to playing the 2 guard seeing as how we have no size at that position.
Bogans should be re-signed IMO, but I think it's time to let Wesley move on, unless the Rockets totally blow the rest of the offseason and he's the best they can do. Wesley might still help in the playoffs, but best case scenario there's no need for him.
Bogans brings defense, athleticism and a tough, physical guard who can play the 2 or 3. Plus he'll come cheap. It's a no-brainer that the Rockets should sign him.
Bogans is a RFA- he got an offer from the Rockets. Wesley will be useful only as a sign and trade situation ( assuming the other time will want him).
If someone else wants Bogans for more than the minimum they can have him otherwise he could be a defensive role player for us. Wealey might be an option off the bench for the minimum... but that would be only if we can't find anything better and no hurry to make that decision.
I hope Bogans has been shooting about 500 3p's a day this summer because he needs to hit his shot to have a chance to play. Clank is the sound of last year's team.
If the Rockets are in a position where they are resigning Bogans or even Wesley then they did not maximize their off season. There are better options for the Rockets if they don't blow it.
You left off a total lack of confidence on offense. Can not hit water if he fell out of a boat and does not finish the break very well. If the Rockets do not shore up their shooting guard spot with someone much better than Bogins then management has not done their job and the team is going to be in trouble.
Well, I kind of feel bad for D. Wesley. He did play his rear end off for us. Always played hard regardless of the statistical output. From a management point of view, I can see why they didn't consider him a top priority due to his age and this past season's injuries. I'm gonna miss him if we don't resign him, but that's life. as for Bogans... I see him being a Mario Elie type of player for us. I like Keith's game but he needs to work on his perimeter game a bit more. I love his toughness and how he attacks the basket. If only he would do that more. That said, we should resign Bogans as one of our 3rd stringers. The question is will he be comfortable with that role? or is he looking for starter-like minutes?
The last I read, Wesley was seriously considering retirement. I think that was from the thread about TMac's softball team (of which Wesley is a member) that was posted a month or so ago.
The Rox need a makeover of last years roster, getting rid of SS was a start and players like DW and Bogans need to be replaced by younger, more athletic talent . DW is old and should retire and Bogans is an ok defensive player but a mediocre offensive one, we should be looking for an upgrade for him as well.
Keeping Bogans is a complete no-brainer. He is young and tough, he would also benifit from playing with T-Mac and Yao. With the lack of size at the 2, you have to resign him.
