    Stern is a punk

Caught this on the Yahoo recap...

"Commissioner David Stern, who coincidentally attended this game, called the largest fine ever levied against an NBA coach only ``an intermediary step'' and said an investigation will continue -- once the Rockets finish their playoff run. Stern even implied that Van Gundy could face a lifetime ban.

Van Gundy laughed off the entire case and Yao offered to pay half the fine."

lifetime ban? why's Stern being such a punk?!

I hope that David Stern and all of the officials get abducted by ailens, probed, and never returned back to earth.

I thought that was a bit harsh as well. I mean $100,000? Stern is taking this one a little personal. Maybe the truth DOES hurt.

    a lifetime ban is ridiculous

the nba is covering something up

JVG is not the kind of guy who just blurts things out unless he truly believes in it..he hasn't called the refs out in public as much as we had hoped throughout this season instead choosing to do it quitely through tapes and what not. JVG doesn't do this kind of stuff and when an actual ref told him what was up he went public. I would have too! This is an outcry!!

Punk B!tch is more like it. If the hoe ass refs called **** right, no one would have to come out and embarass the league like this. His dumb ass refs brought the heat on themselves.

David Stern has some serious balls threatening a lifetime ban on a night when the refs make calls like the ones we witnessed. Granted, he likely said that before the Finley debacles in the last minute, but he can't possibly think the media and the public will believe that there isn't a serious problem right now with officiating in the NBA.

He won't ban JVG. He is just trying to make an example so nobody would question the integrity of the NBA again. It will probably work, Stern is a smart guy.

    FREE JVG!!!!!

EDIT: I know JVG is rich and all but if someone set up a fund where everyone could donate a buck to pay for JVG's fine I'd ante up... it would be our own little protest. Although I'm sure it wont matter it'd be a nice little gesture.

I think JVG said what he said to put a spotlight on how the refs call the game. This turmoil only serves JVG's purpose. He's loving it. As long as the refs are gun shy about quick whistles against Yao for the screens then JVG wins.

I have no idea whether an official really contacted JVG or not. It is possible JVG made it up to sound more credible in his effort to shine a spotlight on the officials and make them lay off the whistle a little. The brighter that spotlight the better JVG's purpose has been served.

It is true that someone did contact Jeff Van Gundy, it doesn't matter. After Stern's reaction I'm a little more inclined to believe JVG. I think Stern doth protest too much.

Either way JVG is getting his wish about the refs calling the screen less or at least both ways. I just hope they aren't rooking us on other calls to get back at him.

Hey Stern, you are one sorry little fat punk! Do you know that you're whole sorry league has been in trouble for quite a while now! Your product has been unwatchable over the years, you are losing fans left and right, now this bombshell came out. You can call JVG many things but lying was never in his blood. JVG is the most honest, straight forward coach in the league

IT"S YOU THAT HAS SOMETHING TO HIDE YOU SORRY ASS LIITLE WIMP!

I really liked Stern before now. This whole thing is un-called for. He can't ban JVG cause then it will recieve huge negative publicity and the media would be all over it.

I say we all chip in $20 for JVG's fine and show the league we, and this organization, will not be bullied.

    Hey I will do it.

100,000/20 = 5000 people. Definitely possible. Who will lead it?
