Thank you David Stern for saving the Rockets from Moreys drive to mediocrity. Stern could of handled things smoother but at least where not building around a 31 year old Pau Gasol who was not able to get it done as the first option in his prime and in Nene a injury prone big man who doesn't block shots or rebound.

Thank you for saving the Rockets Mr. Stern.

Yes. Thank you. Now we are certainly not mediocre after the failed trade....

Could have had the best frontcourt in the league without giving virtually any youth and you are complaining? Who exactly are we building around now? Get real.... LMAO Nene doesn't block shots? Nevermind the fact that he is an elite Pick and Roll defender. We could have had a top 15 player and a top 10 (at worst) center for Kevin Martin and Scola. Please just stop..... It is starting to piss me off.

Way to start another thread about nothing.

I would take Gasol/Nene over Bosh/Anthony any day. Not even close.
I would take Gasol/Nene over Ibaka/Perkins any day. Not even close.
Believe it or not, I would take Gasol/Nene over Amare/Chandler any day.

Amare doesn't rebound or play defense. As highly touted as he is by the media, please remember that Gasol was an MVP candidate earlier this year.
Hate to say it but Nene is a superior player to Chandler in many facets of the game. I would much rather a Gasol/Nene combo.

I am curious as to why exactly you think we are better off without the deal. Or why we are in any way less mediocre post trade failure. Sound to me like you are just blowing hot air...

Were better off without the deal because we won't be paying Nene and Gasol a combined 34 million a year

What exactly would you propose a good salary for an elite 4/5 pair would be?

34mil sounds reasonable, especially given our lack of interest by prospective free agents.

Sorry I could see why you would say Gasol is elite but i don't believe that a Nene is elite at all. Their is only one elite center in the NBA.

I would take many centers over Nene. I would rather have Gortat, Chandler,Bynum, Bogut, Lopez or even Dalembert. Nene gets hurt too much and doesn't rebound or block shots. Those are the most important aspects of the center position and everyone is so big on his offense but he only averaged 14 a game last year.

You fail to recognize the players that NeNe has been surrounded with his entire career. What type of output do you expect from him with a mega-ego in Carmelo? You will see a much different NeNe this season with a collective team effort instead of a one-man charge.

I should forward your garbage to his sister-in-law so they have something to laugh at while they eat breakfast.

    Wow... ok were done.

Nene is clearly head and shoulders above all the centers you mentioned except for Bogut and possibly Chandler. I am assuming you realize that Nene averages a block per game. He is also a top pick and roll defender. It is a common misconception that Nene is a bad defender, which is very far from the truth. You talk about poor rebounding and then you put Lopez ahead of Nene? Lol at Dalembert....

Sure based solely on ppg he looks just decent on offense. Have you checked his efficiency? He scores 15 ppg on 615% shooting. Good for 4th in the NBA in efficiency. The fact that he scores 15ppg on that is just beastly. Were you expecting him to score more on average playing alongside Melo all these years, or did you not think that far?

Also keep in mind that the contracts of Stat/Chandler (aka the only 4/5 combo you can name that would possibly compare) are very close to the 34 million threshold, with Amare being paid 100 million dollars over the course of his contract....

Nene is an injury risk and Gasol could easily go the Kevin Garnett way. With all the minutes Gasol has played in the last 4 seasons, he's not going to be as good for much longer.

Also even if you would take Gasol/Nene over Amar'e/Chandler (even if Amar'e has averaged more rebounds per 36 minutes over his career than Nene, and Nene is never the focal point on an offense like Amar'e is).

Amar'e hasn't had a center like Tyson next to him. Gasol was considered soft and a bad defender before he won a ring. I'm not saying Amar'e is good at defense but he's athletic and with Tyson there he doesn't have to play center any more.

Oh yeah, and the Knicks have someone named Carmelo Anthony
