The Kings are now trying to trade TMacs contract for David Lee? That's nuts! http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/64837/20100218/kings_looking_to_deal_for_david_lee/
And then there was this... Chad Ford writes that the Knicks need Lee's permission to trade him to Sacramento and that the team won't receive it.
I think the King's come out the big winners if all this goes down.. They got rid of a injury prone guard with a overpaid contract for a productive PF in Landry and now they can still turn Tmac around for either the same deal we had with the Knicks (Hill, Draft Picks, etc) or If this David Lee crap is true then wow what a steal for the Kings.. Out goes Martin.. in comes Landry, Hill, 1st Rnd Picks or Landry + Lee.. hmm damn the kings
I went to RealGM.com to read up on the Kings pursuit of David Lee and came across this funny little bit.... The Bucks and Sixers are in serious trade talks, according to Chad Ford of ESPN. Jodie Meeks, Francisco Elson and a second round pick would be sent to Philadelphia for Primoz Brezec and Royal Ivey. LOL....."serious talks" Like it's 2 major teams pulling off a blockbuster.
Please educate yourself before you speak. The Rockets would be involved with any deal that ultimately sent McGrady to NY.
With that said, how did Lee and Robinson manage to get that "veto" power in their contracts. I could see something like that with Kobe, but those guys?
Why would we allow the Kings to slide in and reap all the benefits of T-Mac's contract? Your scenario makes absolutely no sense from the Rockets standpoint. If anything, I think Martin, Hill and the first rounders come to Houston, and Lee + Landry go to the Kings.
This. If Kings were to pull this off, most definitely they would give up way more than what we would, like picks.
wont happen, Rox would be involved in the 3 team deal thats been said multiple tiimes on espn, tune in into the trade deadline special at 2 today for all the drama.. but i kno for a fact that Lee aint goin to Sac
Cap space. Lee wanted $10-12M/yr last summer. Rockets were restricted to around $8M without Lowry and Scola or the MLE. The Kings will be the type of team he'll be seriously talking to in free agency.
they decided to stay in NY for 1 year deals. they got no trade clauses to protect them from being traded to sorry teams.
Thanks for clearing that up. I could see David Lee agreeing to come here now that Landry is gone, but who knows.
