I'm tired of people defending Carr and saying everything will be OK if we get better OLine. DONT you guys see it! this guy isn't it ... even if we waste all of our draft picks and free agent signing on OLINE we mite at best go 7-9 with this GUY! Today I was at the game (hoping Indy will cover the -15pt) and even when the game was tie 14-14 I was sure Carr would make some mistakes and FUMBLE he did. (Is like people saying Joey Harrington is good in Detriot)

The team is so messed up that it will probaby take another 3-5yrs to correct. Losing players like Glenn/Sharper and getting Babin/Philip B./Greenwood/Tre Johnson( where is he anyway?) I know we had to release Glenn/Sharper but I'm just talking about the players we picked up.

And what's SAD is we might have a shot at the #1 PICK this YR!! and I'm hearing that they might pick up Carr's roster bonus and since they have already signed DD to an extension, that we might then trade the #1 pick for other picks AND DO WHAT?? draft a bunch of soon to be bench players and watch Reggie Bush or Leinart go to Pro-Bowls while we're still stuck with CARR trying to be a .500 team year in year out.

Pleaseee let this guy go! With his play today we should start Tony Bank next week and see how many times he gets sack and see if he can move this offense better ...... and if he can ..... then YOU"LL KNOW WHAT EVERYBODY KNOWS ALREADY! CARR NEEDS TO GO LIKE TIM COUCH DID!!! Man I feel sorry for all the season ticket holders.

I agree with you. The blocking was fine today and he was terrible.

I will say, the guy does have heart, he ran for some tough yards today and got banged around. I have respect for him, he is giving his all. He reminds me of the guy out there on the playground on a basketball pick up game, can't really shoot, can't dribble, but runs around and hustles and gets loose balls and gives it his all and never gives up.

Look at Detroit today, the put in Jeff Garcia and the whole team responded to him with a solid win and showed some enthusiasm.

I don't see how we can really judge him either way so far - it's not as if he's been surrounded by NFL talent. Ever. He does some bad things, he does some good things.

    Mostly he just gets hit.

Our offensive line is so bad that the gameplan was to abandon the passing game today because we couldn't protect the quarterback.

Well I say play Tony Bank next week and we'll see ... I just have a strange feeling that Bank can move the offense w/ out getting a much sack as Carr.

Carr definitely makes really bad decisions. It's hard to gauge whether that's because he's been getting his head bashed in since he came into the league or because he just doesn't have it upstairs to be a quality QB. The most frustrating thing to me about Carr is that when he scrambles he seems to forget he can just toss the ball out of bounds. He'll bust it just to get to the line of scrimmage for some reason and doesn't seem to understand that throwing the ball away accomplishes the same thing and saves him from big hits.

You have to remember, though, that Carr is still looking downfield when he scrambles. He had several plays last season where he threw downfield at the last second on plays where he tucked it and rolled to the right sideline. He had one this season in the Pittsburgh game that Bradford dropped. By the time Carr gives up on passing the ball, he's to the point (close enough to defenders) where he's going to get hammered regardless of whether he throws it out of bounds or keeps it himself.

The blocking was as terrible today as ever. I don't really know what else to say about that. They did a mediocre job at run blocking, but still the worst I've ever seen in pass protection.

I feel confident that Carr's going to be a good, possibly very good quarterback. I just hope the front office has more patience than some of the fans and lets that happen here, instead of letting us watch it while we ruin another quarterback (Leinart, Young, etc.) behind this offensive line. I'd still like Banks to start, however, for nothing more than showing how ridiculous it is to expect any quarterback to succeed when the plays have no time to develop.

I agree. I say we just lose the rest of the games on purpose (we don't even have to try to lose the games; we would lose all the games anyway) and go fot Leinart, Vince Young, or maybe even Marcus Vick.

I'll say this, you put Leinart back there and pretty much nothing's going to change.

If the Texans do give up on Carr, then we need to fix the O-Line BEFORE heavily investing in another QB else it'll be the same old story.

Agreed. Leinart or Bush wouldn't do any better than Carr or DD with this team. We've already used a #1 pick on a QB and you have to do some serious considerations before you use another #1 on a QB.

Luckyazn- IF we got the #1 overall pick, it would be wise to trade down for a top5 pick and maybe a mid or low 1st round pick. Using the high pick to draft a stud OL like D. Ferguson and maybe be able to steal another OL like Jonathan Scott would be the best bang for our buck.

Maybe true ... but with the way our GM has been drafting Tre Johnson? Babin? beside AJ & DROD who else had stood out? Look at Dallas/Cinn and their draft picks

I agree on this as well.

At some point, you have to think he has lost all confidence in his O-line and most of the recievers which obviously effects his play. He kept showing continuos improvement his first two and a half seasons. I think he just has no faith in a lot of guys around him now which started last season.

I'll say this. You put a sure-handed, play-making TE on the roster and it would make a world of difference already. Remember, the Chargers just about gave up on Brees and then, when Gates busted out as a premier TE, he was a whole new QB. A good TE along with Davis' running and Johnson on the outside would open everything up for Carr.

I was listening to 610 after the game, and the guys mentioned how they had one of the Texan players on not too long ago (I can't remember who they said it was, maybe the deep snapper?) and asked him "who the leaders of the offense were". He hesitated for a second, and said Zach Weigert. They asked him about excluding Carr, and he didn't say anything.

I think Carr is fine talent-wise, but I don't think he has the respect of his teammates nor is he a true leader. The Texans have a LOT of thinking to do the rest of the season and this offseason.

You ask ANY knowlegable football analyst and they'll tell you the problem is 95% our O-Line and 5% Carr.

people have to stop blaming carr for everything. he's got a lot of talent and can make a ton of plays with a good o-line but the problem IS the line not carr. no one could be successful with that line, NO ONE. how many times do i have to say it.

    I don't think so.

Did you see the game winning play today when Eli Manning threw the touchdown to Toomer against the cowboys? There was a jailbreak thru the offensive line and Manning stayed calm and back peddeled to give his receivers time. I've never seen carr do that, he woulda just panicked and fell down or threw the ball away.
