Just a heads up for those that are thinking about picking Carolina this week. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_y...B?slug=ap-panthers-injuries&prov=ap&type=lgns
I don't know much about Carr, since I live in the Atlanta, I don't watch alot of Texans game, but he might be better than Delhomme.
It's hard to say if he will turnout to be a great QB or not, but when he did take games over, when Vick got injured or rested for playoffs....I will tell you that he is very competent QB. One game I know he did really well in was against Patriots a few seasons ago when he was rookie...he almost had 300 yards against them when they were two-time defending Super Bowl champ and almost came from 14 pts. behind to win that game. If Atlanta had crystal ball, he would probably still be on roster and a full time starter. Atlanta kinda had to trade him, because they already had Vick and many other issues on defense and the OL and WR. He should do really well, I notice you all have a big play receiver and decent ones to complement him. He will probably lead you all to the playoffs....statline 3,400 yds. 25 tds and 11 ints.
Delhomme is having a great season thus far. Carr could never replace the guy. But I would expect him to do well with all the weapons at his disposal. Carr looked good in the preseason.
His hairdresser must be very upset knowing pretty boy won't be showing off his 1960s Mary Tyler Moore hairdo during the game.
those gloves were hilarious. I hope he does well. He always seemed like a great guy off the field so I wish him well. Hope he learned how to be comfortable in the pocket and to look at all his reads and not stare down receivers. Some awareness of where the defenders are in addition to adding some elusiveness in the pocket would help as well. Crap, he'll probably play poorly. I expect a lot of short passes and dump offs to the RB.
I'm rooting for Carr to do good. I put my money on the Panthers last week and David Carr came away with the win in the clutch . Oh yeah, those penalties helped too.
Im rooting for 6 sacks on him...then maybe everyone in the world will realize that its him, not our poor OLine.
I think it's both. Let me explain... Carr needs time and is less mobile... so a little too much pressure too soon, and SACK! Mr. Matt is not entirely mobile, but he can make his decisions quicker, and if needed can scramble a bit. So... Carolina's o-line may be just more of the brick wall that Carr can thrive under... and Schaub can make our o-line look better because he's quicker on two counts -decisions and mobility. Carr was never a wuss IMHO... he dove for first downs and jumped into the endzone, putting his body on the line several times over the years in Houston. And shoot... he took a bazillion sacks. He was just that split second or two too late to pull the trigger. I wish them both a good season.
Yeah, but how do you explain him running out of bounds behind the line of scrimmage? I never quite understood that. It counts as a sack, and you lose yards, and waste a down. At least if you throw it away, you will just lose a down, but the line of scrimmage is the same.
As I said... slower to make decisions. He's not running a dual core pentium by any means... maybe a 286.
okay, carr has to be an extreme dumbass then. Seriously. How hard is to see that no one is open, so throw the damn thing away. You are outside of the tackle box. It pained me a lot. Why the hell did we not draft Joey Harrington like I originally wanted.
