My God! That's the scariest WR I've ever seen. If he hasn't lost too much quickness he will dominate this year.
Dominate what? He plays for Marty Shottenheimer, who has never been known for his love of the passing game. As long as Marty has LT to run the ball, don't expect Boston to put up big numbers.
There was an article somewhere where I read his trainign schedule. He spends like $200K/year on his personal trainer and supplements. Does crazy things like has his blood tested during practice to see if it is time to eat (his trainer is on hand). He is as close to a machine as there is currently. Very strict diet and workout regime. He also said he would continue to get bigger as long as he could maintain his speed (sub 4.4). He's just a freak.
I read this about him over the weekend. He will be significantly larger than most of the DBs covering him, and if they try to jam him at the line, they will get knocked on their butts.
anyone watch MTV's "Real Life: I'm Obsessed With My Body" special on the weekend (I'm sure it was a rerun after 80 million broadcasts)... Anyways, his body and arms remind me of a man they profiled, who had his dad shave his ass for bodybuilding competitions. The guy was so rocked and freaky looking, I had to turn off the TV for fear of projectile vomit staining my carpets.
It's gonna be real fun when the Chargers and Raiders hook up. Boston is gonna have Woodson for lunch and dinner.
Does that include his mar1juana and cocaine consumption. http://espn.go.com/nfl/columns/pasquarelli_len/1501196.html
why are they not converting that guy to running back or linebacker or even strong safety? I consider it a waste to put him at WR if he really is sub 4.4.
Moving from offense to defense takes a lot more than physical strength. It's a mentality issue to want to hit players the way a defensive player must hit. As for RB, San Diego already has one of the top Rb's in the game, so he would be wasted there.
There're rumors he was running 4.25 and 4.17 40's earlier this year... talk about momentum. Those numbers have to be exaggerated, right? I thought coming out of college he was a 4.4 guy. Haven't seen a 40 time like that for somebody that big since Bo Jackson.
Nobody runs 4.17's, it's pretty much physically impossible at this point.. Even the fastest sprinters in the world, guys like Tim Montgomery and Maurice Greene would have trouble cracking 4.3 on steroids.
The fastest time ever recorded at the NFL scouting combine was Deion Sanders with 4.28. Those 4.1 and 4.2's that are thrown around, those are a bunch of hand timed, unverified crap, which generally has a margin for error of about .3 tenths of a second, and by the time it gets passed around third hand, a few more tenths probably come off. There was a long, well written piece on Foxsports or something a few years ago debunking 40 times, I wish I could find it but I can't.
