I was eating at Vic and Anthony's tonight and close to the end of dinner coach Sikma, Anderson and his wife came in and were seated next to us. Sikma speaks loud (so I picked up on some of what they were saying) and was asking him "how his interview was?" (sports sunday) Talking about how it's a good locker room/how his game will fit in? everyone needs to step up etc. etc. Talked about other crap like renting vs buying, no income taxes in Texas etc. etc. I was not trying to ease drop but like I said I just heard it. On the way out they had just got their wine and appetizers so I was not gonna bother them by saying anything considering we were at a nice place where people want to be left alone in general. btw, he is really skinny not sure how he will be able to bang with the big boys
awesome dude!!!!! i see alot of potential in this guy! looks like a great guy with skillz that can truly help this team! even more so, when yao comes back stronger than ever baby! same for tmac baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is gonna be a great season! count on it! never give up on your houston rockets! i really wish i could bump into a rockets player someday out on the streets of houston. i hear they go to the galleria alot! lol go rockets!! nba champs 09-10!
I am really excited for this season for 2 reasons: - no heavy expectations like previous years - rockets are bound to have a fun up tempo style play at least until T-Mac comes back. So i say it's a going to be a good season; not necessarily successful, however very entertaining and fun.
YOU should have asked if Sessions was at the Rockets practice!! Or could have at least be the first Rockets fan with a Andersen autograph.
yup i totally agree... its a good time to really let our young guys play (jt, cbud, brooks, dorsey, landry, ariza) before we pick up a star player or 2 next offseason.... we hv nth to lose and everything to gain this season...
1st - you were cool to lay-back. 2nd - have you ever seen Yao upclose and personal? The man looks so very lean. I hope there's some similarity here with them. Man, I am looking forward to 2010-11; notsomuch this year. But, I have faith Alex will let DM the GM do his job and maybe, just maybe, I can be surprised for this season...
If he had given you an autograph, maybe you would have spelled his name correctly . Just kidding, nice thread .
Speaking of his name, Anderson would be the Swedish form. BTW Andersen is Danish and I guess he is of Danish descent.
I'm glad Andersen was signed, he was pretty good at Barcelona, I watched a couple of games myself and he showed up really good. He will need to transform his game to NBA type like Scola did and we can then see how effective can he be.
hey its great to see that he's already starting his "beefing up" regiment. love V & A. good luck Mr. Andersen, we welcome you to Houston.
great place to eat, good luck david, and once again clutch thanx for the great website and also to all the other members and lurkers, u all make this site great
Ran into Ralph Sampson there back in the 80's...literally. I turned a corner and ran straight into him. I'm 6'4" and the top of my head felt like it hit him in the pecks. We apologized to each other and he signed the Rockets cap I was wearing that got knocked to the ground.
I doubt it. Andersen weighs about 235 which is a tad lighter than smallish PF's like Landry and Powe. At his height, that would make him VERY thin. Yao may look thin but he's pretty strong and one of the heaviest players in the league. I hope his shot is as good as they say it is because unless he has elite post moves down low, I don't see him scoring much on bigger guys.
Soooooo how'd his wife look?! On a sidenote I think almost all NBA players look skinnier/leaner in person than what they appear to be on tv/photos.
sounds like for a person not trying to ease drop, you picked up alot of info bryan cook and anderson appear to be the same type of finesse players
first of all its Brian Cook and David Andersen. second of all, just b/c a big guy can stroke the 3 ball, doesnt mean he's a finese player. Scola is a finese player b/c of how he attacks the rim from a post up position. I would never call flat footed brian cook a finese player. He is a big that roams the 3 point line. He is in no way a bruiser, hes just kinda there.
Cool story. Thats how I met Robert Reid...rounding a corner at the airport. Once I finished making a fool out of myself I realized the whole team was sitting behind him. Dream was in the damnedest (spelling?) green suit I have ever seen. It almost glowed at 2am.
