David Aldridge is reporting that Houston only gets Lowry

    If this is the case, it's good for the Rockets in regards to salary.

    Just before the deadline, a three-way deal was consummated between Orlando, Houston and Memphis that sent guard Rafer Alston to the Magic, guard Kyle Lowry from the Grizzlies to Houston and forward Brian Cook to the Grizzlies. Memphis is also getting a future first-round pick from Orlando as part of the deal.



    The move is big for the Magic, which has been reeling since the shoulder injury to starting point guard Jameer Nelson that is likely to keep him out the rest of the season. Alston has been a starter in Houston the past two seasons and brings toughness and defense most every night, but the Rockets believe that second-year guard Aaron Brooks is their point guard of the future and have been looking to move either Alston or Luther Head for the past few months.

    Hmmm. So the Rockets get a nice young prospect, and they cut some salary. This looks very much like a move for the future. It's on Brooks to deliver in the present.

    he's talking right now on nbatv, and is talking about how rockets would like cook's shooting...it was probably a typo..

    Would have been a MUCH better trade for us if we'd have gotten Memphis' first round pick as well. :( That seems reasonable to me...they get Orlando's and we get theirs. In that case, we all win. :p

    Oh well... :rolleyes:

    That is awesome! Lowry doesn't hurt our cap nearly as much and we don't need Cook! I love this deal!!!
