He says that the most likely destination is Houston. He said Indiana and Cleveland are not very serious about Hakeem. Toronto apparently still has an offer on the table but Hakeem isnt biting yet. He also said that Houston has been trying to trade a couple of their current players to clear some cap room so they can increase their offer but have been unable to do so. This was just on ESPNNEWS at approx 4:20 EST ------------------
Good Scoop, I just saw that too. Milos - Yes its on at 4. ------------------ "The girls danced, started fondling me, I got aroused, they performed oral sex," Ewing said. "I hung around a little bit and talked to them, then I left."

Nice scoop NJRocket... thanks for passing this along... ------------------ NOTHING BUT .NET CLUTCHCITY.NET
I know this is Aldridge, so I'll take the trading part with a grain of salt. But if it is true and the Rockets are trading players (other then Cato of course), and breaking off pieces of the team to keep Dream I'm going to be seriously ticked! ------------------ "Instruments are like women: After a while, you want to make love to another." - Nicolas Godin of the musical duo Air [This message has been edited by RocksMillenium (edited July 24, 2001).]
I agree Rockmill....... if they give away multiple Rocket players (except Cato) just to clear more cap room for HAKEEMS BIG HEAD!!! then CD should be fired!!! If Clevelands has the highest bid of 5 million a year, how much more cap room do the Rockets need? Are they trying to pay him 2 years - $20million.? Sure, lets spend all of our cap money for the next 2 years, to make Hakeem happy!!!! I bet the Rockets leaked the story to make the public think they will break up the team for Hakeem's money demands!!!! But at the end of the day, it will be business as usual for Les!!!! ------------------
Surely the Rockets are actually trying to trade Cato. ------------------ American business long ago gave up on demanding that prospective employees be honest and hardworking. It has even stopped hoping for employees who are educated enough that they can tell the difference between the men's room and the women's room without having little pictures on the doors.
Aldridge is complete BS. He said Marc Jackson's first choice was Toronto. Meanwhile, he hasn't even visited the city. ------------------
Well if this is true then we need to look at it in the right frame of mind. Getting rid of some of the players will not hurt chemistry as long as Hakeem is happy. We want to make it at least two years so that the cap will be over until Francis comes up, and we know then we are over for a long time after that. This work to get under the cap will have really paid off. But on the bright side we can get a pool started as to when Hakeem goes on the IR, how many games he plays, even how long till he complains about Rudys coaching and his role. Great for team chemistry. ------------------ [This message has been edited by E.J. Tucker (edited July 24, 2001).]
Actually, he is right...he just meant Mark Jackson and last year. ------------------ Squatting on old bones and excrement and rusty iron, in a white blaze of heat, a panorama of naked idiots stretches to the horizon. Complete silence-their speech centers are destroyed-except for the crackle of sparks and the popping of singed flesh as they apply electrodes up and down the spine. White smoke of burning flesh hangs in the motionless air. A group of children have tied an idiot to a post with barbed wire and built a fire between his legs and stand watching with bestial curiosity as the flames lick his thighs. His flesh jerks in the fire with insect agony.
Great news. Maybe we're trying to dump Walt's salary. A Cato dump would be too good to be true. If we're trying to free up salary, maybe it means we are trying not to renounce Bullard. 16.6 million - Salary cap available - 2.86 million - SA's cap hit - .68 million - Moochie's cap hit - 2.96 million - Bullard's cap hit - 6.00 million - MoT's promised salary? = 4.1 million - coincidentaly, our offer to Hakeem ------------------ [This message has been edited by JoeBarelyCares (edited July 24, 2001).] [This message has been edited by JoeBarelyCares (edited July 24, 2001).]
The only thing that makes me think something is going to happen is (and maybe this is because I read all the New York tabloid papers and Peter Vescey comes up with more bogus deals than Carter has liver pills) that the deals that seem to gte done are the ones you dont hear about beforehand... ------------------
Well I seen Aldridge on NBA Today and he said about the same thing as he said on ESPN News. I was surprised to hear we have been shopping a player or two to fit him in,I thought someone on this board would get the scoop 1st Even if we sign Dream I think we should try to pick up another big man.It looks like Collier will be out awhile and I think we should pick up a C/PF type player that can get some rebounds and possibly hit the mid range jumper.(Parks,Mihm,Doleac)I still wished we would give Booth a shot,JMO. Now my dream is that we could offer Cato and Walt in a deal, but what teams would be interested? With the need of centers out there I think Cato would be fairly easy to trade but I dont know about Walt, maybe he could go back to Toronto! Aldridge actually said the Pacers would more likely sign Marc Jackson but could only offer him the same amount as Golden State where he will probably stay! ------------------ AKA Rendiggler
