If you are really hurting to see some football, Ragone's Berlin team plays on Fox on Sunday at noon. Apparently he's having a pretty good year over there.

I think the bigger question is does anyone from America tune it to watch NFL Europe on tv?

you are just being stupid..... look at some of the players that came from NFLEurope....... if someone the Texans sent over becomes a big player in the NFL you will sing a different tune...... Vinatieri...... was a nfl europe guy.... Delhomme was...... Steve Smith i think was over there......... Ragone is having a great year..... and getting good experience..... any REAL TEXANS FAN would want to be informed on how our players are doing over the summer..........

    Thanks for the tip Faos.:)

I've always wondered how good he was. He's got load of potential. He was one of the best QB'S in his division. I'd like to see him get a little more playng time, even if it's just to hand the ball off ro the RB. and some short routes.

However, i believe when we drafted him, he would be posible trade bait. But playing is the only way to get him exposure in the NFL. We never have a high enough league to get the B squad in.

Also, (IMO), i really think Ragone will start getting real frustred if he hasn't been already. He wants to be a starter, that's why he wasn't too enthuiastic when the Texans drafted him. He knew Carr was the Franchise kid and probably will be for another 10 years. If i were him, i would most likely ask for a trade when his skills develop more. His best NFL comarisson is Brett Farve. From the way he is built and the way he throws the ball. He is supposed to be one of the smartest QB's from his daft class.

I don't know when his last year on his contract is, but that's probably the year he gets traded. If we let him stay an become a FA, he will bolt, where he will have the oppurtunity to get a starter job or at least compete for it and we could get draft picks depending on his performace.

I'll watch this game because unless Carr get hurt we might never see him play, while he is a Texan.

Why the hell did we pick this guy. I remember he looked absolutely clueless in the few games that he played in. He showed zero mobility in the pocket and struggled to find open receivers. BJ Symons will probably be more successful.

So these are like NFL players making the extra money?

I noticed all the team logos on the back of the helmets.

It's more of a developmental league for the NFL to give players like Ragone who is a 2nd or 3rd string guy that doesn't get much time to develop here on the texans a chance. It's a lot better then them sitting the pine all year and never gaining game time experience even though the competition might not be at the NFL level.

All the players wear the logo of the team they are with on their jereseys, like an ownership patch lol

Ragone is one of the top rated passers in Europe.

Once you access the link you have to scroll down to the "Passing Leaders," and Ragone is listed at the top.

according to his stats he's not a bad qb. of course it's not the NFL but still just to have him as a backup to Carr it seems like he is getting some nice experience.

With our O-line, we're gonna need all the backup QBs we can get.

I saw part of the game today. Ragone looked sharp out there. He threw 3 TD passes while I was watching, and at one point was 12-14.

He also seems to be the master of drawing the defense offsides. There were at least 4 offsides penalties he drew with hard counts, and he finished off these plays with pass completions. I don't know if the penalties will be indicated in the box score. That's one way to slow down the pass rush, I guess.

I was impressed, then again, who knows what the competition is like.

a guy who is interning at my church is from Spain. i was asking him about interest in NFL Europe. he said until recently, he was completely unaware of it. there is little to no coverage in Spain for this league in the local media there.

I think it is great that Ragoneis getting playing time. Since Banks will be back, it is a great way for Ragone to either increase his value and move into the second spot after next year or trade bait this year.

I didn't think it was fair to put Ragone bad luck playing for the Texans, because of our inept offensive line. He threw 2 incredibly catchable passes to Johnson, but I don't think Johnson positioned his hands to accomodate the opposite spin on the ball. Simple rookie mistakes.

I liked Ragone when he played for Louisville and thought he was going to step in as #2 when Banks contract was up, but that didn't happen.

Any way you look at it, the Texans are good to have Ragone handy. Trade or what not.

Ragone is in a bad situation with fans because of the pick he was taken with, already having Carr. People roll out the excuse machine for Carr when he has a bad game but were all over Ragone his first game his rookie year with a second year team. Just like Carr, Ragone needs to develop and he is also working with the same inept line that Carr is.

I was really impressed with what I saw from Ragone. He seemed effortless and accurate with his throw and his mechs was sound from my vantage point.

I did not get to finish the game but I will say it is not a stretch that Dave would have started for the last season's Chicago Bears.
