In reading one of the other threads, someone mentioned being hit on by slutty girls at work but not being able to do anything about it (i.e. dating them). I have dated (once or twice) people I have worked with in the past, but right now, I am dating someone that I do NOT work with. And it seems to be a lot less stressful. There may come a time where I might be interested again in dating someone I work with, but I really hope not. However, I wanted to pose this question to the board and see what the general consensus thinks.

I would and have, but that was in college so it might be a little different.

I believe that most people end up getting married to someone that they work with. Date away as long as it won't get you fired.

If it's somewhere I didn't plan on being a long time, sure, why not. If it's a job I'd been at for a while and plan on staying, then well, I'd have to think hard about it. :p

i think most guys would say Yes and most girls would say No (to a random poll...some girls may say Yes to a guy in a situation or whatever, but just for a poll of the general idea i think they'd say no)

Not me. I like to keep my work life and my everything else life TOTALLY separate. The last thing I want to talk about on a date is my boring job.

Never ever do that unless you want to go all the way.

Yes, I have. But it was not the wisest decision of my life. I got lucky and it worked out OK. Do not recommend it.

I met my wife at work and then I got a job at the same company as her after we were married. It was great. However, it has to be a mature relationship and not just a fling because those can turn nasty.

I married someone who worked in the same department. Still going strong 15 years later.

If you really like/love someone, I couldn't imagine letting something as small as the fact that they work at the same place you do stand in the way.

I wouldn't. I think that is just way too much time together.

i say do it. IF you don't want to see her anymore, just get her pregnant and make her maternity leave. That'll show her.
